The Fluttering is a Pureblood Heartless introduced in Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-.
Design
A Fluttering is a cross between what appears to be an umbrella and a bat. Its body is predominantly a dark purple, but the insides of its wings - or more precisely, a uniwing - and the pointy collar on its neck are pink. Its head is square-shaped with a pointy extension at the back. It has jagged ears atop its head and a jagged tail that ends in the traditional Heartless curl. Flutterings tend to hang upside down instead of materializing like other Heartless.
Strategy
Kingdom Hearts III
It is vulnerable to all magic and melee damage. When hurt enough, Flutterings start spinning like tops, which can be countered with a block. When they're hanging upside down, it is possible to Lock-On to them and hit them with magic from a distance before they start attacking. Blizzard magic is advised, as they have a weakness to it.
