The Mechanitaur is an Emblem Heartless that appears in Kingdom Hearts III.
Design[edit]
Mechanitaurs heavily resemble Satyrs. Their skin is jet black, their eyes are yellow, and their armor is grey and distinctly mechanical with the Heartless emblem on their chestplate. Their feet and hands are white, and are equipped with gauntlets and pauldrons with green highlights. They wear a helm that has horns resembling engines.
The Mechanitaur's English name incorporates the word "mechanical", alluding to its mechanical design, and is derived from the Minotaur, a monster from Greek myth that was half-human, half-bull. Its Japanese name, "Clockwork Bull", simply alludes to its design resembling a mechanical bull.
Strategy[edit]
Although a little beefier HP-wise, Mechanitaurs are almost identical to Satyrs in terms of attack patterns and power. The only change from their lesser counterparts in combat is that their horns are unbreakable; this means that when staggered after lowering their Reaction Endurance to zero, their stagger mechanics will not change. Due to this, only Sora's stronger attacks in his base form, Magic, or attacks in Formchanges will be effective in keeping them locked down once staggerable.
Mechanitaurs are susceptible to all four status effects; each is an effective tool at limiting their mobility and taking them down, especially in the fight on top of the enclosed rooftop during the main story in San Fransokyo as they will have trouble escaping Sora's reach.
