The Red Nocturne is an Emblem Heartless introduced in Kingdom Hearts.

Design

The Red Nocturne has a smooth, conical, red body with a Heartless emblem emblazoned on its chest. The top of its body flares outward and forms a jagged "collar" below the Heartless's spherical, pitch black head. It also wears a conical, yellow hat that has a jagged brim and a thin, curled tip. Like many Heartless, the Red Nocturne has glowing yellow eyes. Its seemingly useless feet sport three small, thin toes.

Like other Heartless in its family, the Red Nocturne's name is comprised of a color—in this case, red—and a musical term—in this case, a nocturne, which is usually a musical composition that is inspired by, or evocative of, the night.

Battle

Attacks

  • The Red Nocturne launches a fireball at its target.
  • The Red Nocturne cloaks itself in flames and rushes at its target.

Strategy

Red Nocturnes utilize Fire magic to damage opponents; they are weak to Blizzard Magic, and those who strike these Heartless with it earn Tech Points. Red Nocturnes absorb and are healed by Fire magic when it is cast on them by Sora and his friends.

Sora earns Tech Points every time he blocks a Red Nocturne's attacks.[3][4][5][6]
