The Armored Knight is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts II.
Story
The Armored Knight is on of the only two species of Heartless that Sora fights in the Battle of the 1000 Heartless. During the same conflict, Yuna, Rikku, and Paine work together to defeat one of these Heartless.
Design
An Armored Knight, true to its name, is a very thin, humanoid Heartless clad from head to toe in black, grey, and silver armor. Its spherical, pitch-black head and glowing, yellow eyes are visible in its helmet, and there are two red spirals decorating its visor. It also carries a sword with a gold guard and handle. Its Heartless emblem is on its abdomen.
The Armored Knight's name is a direct reference to its appearance, which is reminiscent of armor-clad knights.
Story
Kingdom Hearts II
Armored Knights appear for the first time towards the Battle of 1000 Heartless in Hollow Bastion. In the battle proper, Sora has to singlehandedly defeat a thousand Heartless, many of which are Armored Knights. Later, during a face-off against Saïx, Sora is surrounded by a group of Armored Knights summoned by Saïx, who expects him to fight them and release the hearts contained inside them. It is then that Sora and company are dragged into the Realm of Darkness by Maleficent.
Armored Knights appear in the scene in The Hall of Empty Melodies, but don't appear in any other part of the world.
Strategy
- Attacks
- Tripping Slash: Lunging sword attack
- Spin Rush: Horizontal spin attack
- Jump Rush: Jumping sword thrust
- Reaction Commands
- Rising Sun: Sora will rise into the air, then soar through the Knight. You can use this move five times consecutively without touching the ground, and it can be used against other enemies once it has been started.
They have very low HP, and their Reaction Command, Rising Sun, is very powerful. However, they do tend to swarm in large numbers.
