At the start of the battle, Lock-On to the Tail Mirage as it hovers above you. As this is an aerial battle, you must jump to the Heartless' level before you can begin your attack. Use caution, as the Boss will eventually proceed to summon homing balls of blue energy to damage you. From this point forward, the Heartless will warp around the battlefield, making attacks difficult to land.

You must also be careful not to get too close to the Tail Mirage, as it will stab you with its talons in an attempt to knock you away. Another attack in this Heartless Boss' arsenal involves it spiraling into you, dealing impact damage. The Tail Mirage will also flip in the air, damaging those in its way. So long as you heal periodically, utilize your Limit Break, and attack whenever possible while at the same time dodge the beast's attacks to the best of your ability, you should be able to tackle the Tail Mirage in a matter of minutes. If you wish to use Magic in this battle, use the when the Heartless is stationary. Attempt a spell while the beast warps to a new location, and your spell is guaranteed to miss.

The Phantomtail is an Emblem Heartless that appears in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It serves as a boss in Neverland.

Story[edit]

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days[edit]

The Phantomtail is summoned to Neverland by Captain Hook's greed. Roxas defeats the Heartless, but its defeat is discovered by Pete, who resolves to summon an even more powerful Heartless in its place.

Design[edit]

The Phantomtail is a large, draconic Heartless with pink skin. Its legs and shoulders are black. This Heartless is thinly built and has large, peculiarly-shaped feet; each foot has a black claw on its front and another on its back. The tip of the Phantomtail's long tail is hooked, as are the tips of its wings. Short, forward-facing horns appear atop this Heartless's head above each of its yellow eyes, and the Heartless emblem appears on its chest.

The Phantomtail's name references its eerie, ghostlike appearance, as well as its tail.

Strategy[edit]

When battling the Phantomtail, Roxas must be careful not to strike the Heartless's head. Doing so causes the Phantomtail to warp to another part of the battlefield. Roxas can prevent this Heartless from warping by attacking its wings and tail, and he can track its movements with greater ease by staying Locked-On to it.
