The Black Ballade is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.

Black Ballade are a member of a strange family of artificial Heartless. Almost every Heartless in the family (with the exception of Wizards and Bookmasters) shares a common trait: They look very much like Vivi, and all have names referring to their color and a form of music. A ballade is a one-movement musical piece with lyrical and dramatic narrative qualities.

The Black Ballade is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.

Design[edit]

The Black Ballade, true to its name, has a smooth, conical, black body with a Heartless emblem emblazoned on its chest. The top of its body flares outward and forms a jagged "collar" below the its spherical, pitch black head. It also wears a conical, dark red hat with a jagged brim and grey-white markings resembling kunai knives, a silver band around it, and a thin, curled tip. Like many Heartless, the Black Ballade has glowing yellow eyes. Its seemingly useless feet sport three small, thin toes.

Like many Heartless in its family, the Black Ballade's name is comprised of a color—in this case, black—and a musical term—in this case, a "ballade," a one-movement musical piece with lyrical and dramatic narrative qualities.

Strategy[edit]

The Black Ballade appears only in the Bamboo Thicket. When battling a Black Ballade, it splits into five clones. Sora must find the one that jumps, indicating that it is the real one. Attacking the wrong Ballade causes it to attack Sora with a near-unavoidable shock. To keep track of the Black Ballades more easily, one can repeatedly pause and unpause the game. It's easy to miss a Black Ballade, but once they stop moving, target them to ensure a swing will land a blow.
