This article requires cleanup or improvement.
Please help out by editing this page. Please see the Manual of Style and editing help before getting started. Issues: Ending screens from KHFM, KHII, KHIIFM, coded, KH0.2 and KHIII. Also add music samples played during ending screen. And generally write up something better than I can. |
The End, also known as the Battle Report in later games, is a phrase used to refer to the ending of a work of fiction. It is included in almost every Kingdom Hearts game to date. Dearly Beloved is often the theme that plays during the ending frame of the game. When a "The End" screen appears, there is usually no need for user input, however, there is user input in later games such as Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, due to the fact that these savings may have later use.
Kingdom Hearts & Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
The End screen in Kingdom Hearts is simply the cover artwork of the North American version, with "The End" written in a white font at the bottom left. The End screen in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is the cover artwork but set to night, with "Fin" and various statistics shown on the left side. Dearly Beloved -Reprise- plays in this incarnation of The End.
Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories & Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
The Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories version of Dearly Beloved plays while the End screens are shown.
Sora
Chain of Memories: The end screen is a picture of Sora, Donald, and Goofy climbing the stairs of Castle Oblivion with Naminé at the top, similar to how Castle Oblivion is shown in the opening of Kingdom Hearts II.
Re: Chain of Memories
- Beginner: The end screen is Sora's art on the box art of Chain of Memories.
- Standard: The end screen is the actual Chain of Memories box art.
- Proud: The end screen is a high-res version of the original end screen from Chain of Memories.
- Proud with 100% Journal: The end screen is art of Sora from Kingdom Hearts 2 posing in front a background displaying his art from Kingdom Hearts and Chain of Memories along with pictures of Donald, Goofy, Kairi, and Riku.
Riku
Chain of Memories: The end screen is a picture of Sora and Riku posing back to back displayed in the style of the box art.
Re: Chain of Memories
- Beginner: The end screen is a picture of Riku in the style of the Chain of Memories box art.
- Standard: The end screen is a high-res version of Riku's original end screen from Chain of Memories.
- Proud: The end screen is front cover box art of the game.
- Proud with 100% D-Report: The end screen is the back cover box art of the game.
Kingdom Hearts II & Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
The End screen in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is similar to the cover of the game's Ultimania, with "End" written in a black font at the bottom right while the Kingdom Hearts II version of Dearly Beloved -Reprise- plays.
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep & Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
The Kingdom Hearts version of Dearly Beloved plays while the End screens are shown.
Kingdom Hearts coded & Kingdom Hearts Re:coded
The End screen in Kingdom Hearts Re:coded depicts a jumping Sora sprite that can also be seen in the game's ending sequence, with "The End" written in a blue font at the bottom right corner of the upper screen while Dearly Beloved -Reprise- plays. Kingdom Hearts coded does not have a "The End" screen like in other Kingdom Hearts titles, but instead restarts Sora back at Destiny Islands.[1]
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
The End screen in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance depicts Sora and Riku wielding their Keyblades on the right of the top screen, but if the game mode is critical, it will show the Twilight artwork. On the bottom right, it shows a moving render of the most used Dream Eater. On the left of both screens shows the Battle Report and the bottom left of the bottom screen has "The End" written while Dearly Beloved -Reprise- plays. In the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue version, the Battle Report is separated into two pages, due to the lack of dual-screen functionality.
