Hungry, also called Mystery and Serenity, is a material type introduced in Kingdom Hearts. Hungry materials contain the essence of fulfillment, and are colored gold.

In Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, they are "modifier" materials that can be added to a recipe. In Kingdom Hearts II, they upgrade a recipe to a more powerful form, and are usable once the moogle reaches level 3. In Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, they increase the number of items created, and are usable once the moogle reaches level 6.

In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Hungry materials can be used during Command Meld to attach prize-related abilities.

In Kingdom Hearts II, once all Serenity materials are obtained the moogle will reward Sora with a Magic Boost.

Design

Hungry materials are represented by jewels with a Modifier material structure. The jewels are an opaline mixture of many colors, but gold is the most prominent. A light blue, smoky glow is present on each jewel.

"Serenity" means "calmness" or "peacefulness". The material's original English name, "Mystery”, may simply be a translation error, as "mitasareru" is phonetically similar to "mystery".
