materials are special as they are one of three materials called "modifiers"; its use is not required in any synthesis recipe, but adding one to the recipe offers benefits. Serenity materials are arguably the most useful and most powerful of the three modifying materials because they create entirely new, upgraded items when added to a recipe.  For example, a Drive Recovery can be upgraded to a High Drive Recovery with the addition of a Serenity Shard, or an armor such as Acrisius is upgraded to the more powerful Acrisius+ with a Serenity Stone.

Hungry, also called Mystery and Serenity, is a material type introduced in Kingdom Hearts. Hungry materials contain the essence of contentment or longing.

In order to use Serenity materials, you must upgrade the synthesis Moogle to Level 3, Junior Moogle.  The Serenity items are assigned a gold color to distinguish them from other materials.
In Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, they are "modifier" materials that can be added to a recipe. In Kingdom Hearts II, they upgrade a recipe to a more powerful form, and are usable once the moogle reaches level 3. In Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, they increase the number of items created, and are usable once the moogle reaches level 6.

The Serenity materials in the Japanese Kingdom Hearts II are known as "Fulfilling" materials.
In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Hungry materials can be used during Command Meld to attach prize-related abilities.

In Kingdom Hearts II, once all Serenity materials are obtained the moogle will reward Sora with a Magic Boost.
Design
Hungry materials are colored gold with hints of green, and contain a blue flame-like glow. A Hungry Shard is a smooth, vaguely triangular jewel with two large prongs on its top and two small, slightly curved spikes on its sides. A Hungry Stone consists of a smooth, vaguely triangular jewel with three spikes on its top, with a large crescent-shaped attachment on the left, and a smaller crescent-shaped jewel on the right. A Hungry Gem consists of a smooth, vaguely triangular jewel with a short spike on its top, with two intersecting crescent-shaped attachments at the bottom. A Hungry Crystal consists of a center that is composed of three oval shapes fused together, with a large curving spike and smaller crescent-shaped attachment on three sides.
"Hungry" refers to the essence of longing the material contains, while "Serenity" and "Fulfilling" refer to the essence of contentment it contains. "Mystery" may refer to the material's rarity in Kingdom Hearts, and the fact it is obtained from the mushroom-type Heartless.

Hungry, also called Mystery and Serenity, is a material type introduced in Kingdom Hearts. Hungry materials contain the essence of contentment or longing.

In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Hungry materials can be used during Command Meld to attach prize-related abilities.

In Kingdom Hearts II, once all Serenity materials are obtained the moogle will reward Sora with a Magic Boost.

Design[edit]
