Aether (弦月断 Gengetsudan , lit. "Crescent Moon Finisher") is a set of Lances that can be wielded by Xaldin in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to Aether+.
Design
An Aether lance's shaft is silver in the center and midnight blue on the ends, with the two colors separated by small, copper-colored rings. The lower blade is a thin, yellow diamond with concave side corners. The main part of the upper blade is shaped like a blue right triangle with a circular cut taken out of its center. Two long, curved spikes sprout out of the triangle's bottom corners and spiral around the shaft. The top edges of these spikes are the same shade of yellow as the blade, and the under edges are midnight blue. An Aether lance is identical to the Aer model of lance, though it has different coloration.
Gameplay
Aether’s normal ground combo starts with Xaldin swinging his lances from the same starting point upward to two far points in a "V" formation, followed by swinging his lances above him in a circular formation, like a fan, and ends with a scissor-like attack, where all six lances thrust forward, cross each other and emit X-shaped shockwaves. The combo can be activated after the second attack, and consists of a thrust of all six lances forwards, followed by a star-shaped shockwave being emitted from the tips of the lances, then, up to two consecutive scissor-like attacks can be performed, where all six lances thrust forward, cross each other and emit X-shaped shockwaves.
The aerial combo consists of an upward diagonal slash using one lance, followed by Xaldin swinging his lances above him in a circular formation, like a fan. The combo then ends with a scissor-like attack, where all six of Xaldin’s lances thrust forward, cross each other and emit X-shaped shockwaves.
