The Caribbean is a world in Kingdom Hearts III. It is based on the Disney film series Pirates of the Caribbean. It is connected to the Kingdom Hearts II world of Port Royal.

Unlike when Sora, Donald and Goofy previously visited the portion of the world near Port Royal, while visiting The Caribbean, they appear in proper pirate attire. As Sora is the de facto "leader", he appears in captain's garb, while Donald and Goofy wear crewman clothes.

Trivia

  • As with Port Royal in Kingdom Hearts II, several of the more violent or mature moments that appeared in the original movie are toned down for the game. Unlike KHII, however, the changes are identical between the Japanese and international releases:
    • When Jack reunites with his crew in Davy Jones' locker, his claim that four of them had tried to kill him in the past was changed to say they'd tried to annihilate him (various references to death still appear elsewhere in the game, however).
    • Davy Jones' heart, while still a major plot point, is never physically seen. The scene during the final battle in which Jack threatens to stab the heart has him holding it inside the opened box, and the same is true when the stabbing takes place.
    • Also during the final battle, when Will stabs Davy Jones in the back, the camera is high enough so that the sword through his chest doesn't appear on screen. Later when Davy Jones stabs Will, the screen cuts away before impact.
    • Cutler Beckett's demise merely shows him standing aboard the ship before it's completely destroyed, omitting the moment when he's engulfed in flames and the shot of his body hitting the water.
