It was officially announced at the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra -World of Tres- on June 8, 2019, and is the first major downloadable expansion in the Kingdom Hearts series. It is set to be released in winter 2019-2020. Like Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, it features new storyline cutscenes and new gameplay features.
