The Deep Freeze is a Shield that can be wielded by Vexen in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to the Deep Freeze+.

Design

The Deep Freeze Shield is comprised of four teardrop-shaped pieces. The top and side pieces are navy blue in coloration with magenta edges. The bottom piece is a bit larger and more angular than the other pieces, but it shares the navy blue center and magenta edges. All of the pieces are held together by a white ring with four spikes along the outer edge. There is also a small, white diamond in the middle of the Shield.

A deep freeze is a method of storing food for conservation. It is also a condition of being held in temporary suspension or inactivity.

Gameplay

The Deep Freeze's ground combo begins with an upward thrust; Vexen throws the Shield out of his hands. When it returns to him, he follows with a sharp jab to the left, and he finishes by thrusting his Shield in front of him.

The Deep Freeze's aerial combo begins with a sharp upward slash, and it finishes with a 180° spin move, with the Shield coming to rest in front of Vexen.
