The Secret Forest[1] of Kingdom Hearts III is a special location where time does not matter. Merlin and the Three Good Fairies changed the flow of time there upon the request of Yen Sid, so time progresses faster inside the world's boundaries than it does elsewhere.[2]
Settings and Areas[edit]
The Secret Forest is a vast and lush forest full of trees. The ground is covered in grass and clover. There's a clearing at the top of a cliff overlooking the setting sun shining on the forest, with a rock and a log across from each other, and a larger rock overlooking the edge.
Story[edit]
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance[edit]
Yen Sid mentions to Mickey that Merlin and the Three Good Fairies are aiding Lea in a place that is temporally flexible, so he can learn to wield his Keyblade.
Kingdom Hearts III[edit]
Under Yen Sid's orders, Kairi joins Lea and Merlin to become a Keyblade wielder herself. There she writes Sora a letter she never intends to send.
Notes and references[edit]
- ^ The world's name is only used in the Theater Mode section and a loading screen. Kingdom Hearts III, Kairi: "The leaves in the trees here seem to whisper unspoken worlds, unspoken feelings... Sora, it's my turn to fight for you. #kairi #lea #axel #secretforest #training"
- ^ Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Ultimania, Interviewer: "So, in 'The King Departs', when Yen Sid said 'great sorcerers and fairies have hastened the flow of time in a different place for you'..." / Tetsuya Nomura: "Upon request, those who can manipulate time, Merlin and the three fairies who appeared in Kingdom Hearts II, changed the flow of time in a special place, and there Lea received hastened training in order to be able to use the Keyblade, basically. In the original scenario, we had planned to have Lea able to use the Keyblade when he ran to Sora." Translation via SQEXGAL and Goldpanner.
