The Gigas are mechanical enemies featured in Verum Rex, a fictional franchise featured in Toy Box, a world from Kingdom Hearts III based on Toy Story. Action figures of Gigas also feature as enemies and a gameplay element.
Story
Kingdom Hearts III
Gigas first appear in an advertisement trailer for Verum Rex on a television viewed by Rex and Hamm in Andy's room.
When Sora and his friends go to Galaxy Toys, they spot several Gigas figurines and ask Woody why some toys are immobile. As Woody explains toys have yet to figure it out, Young Xehanort appears and summons several Toy Troopers to pilot the Gigas and attack them. In response, Donald and Goofy convince Sora to pilot the Gigas himself to fight back.
Several Gigas feature as enemies in Verum Rex: Beat of Lead, where Sora is forced to fight them after Young Xehanort throws him into the game.
Kingdom Hearts III ReMind
During the boss fight with Yozora, he will at one point summon Gigas to rush Sora. These "true" Gigas, unlike their figurine and virtual counterparts, are more overtly mechanical with uncolored joints. They are shaded red like the Power Class, and solely utilize its characteristic shoulder tackle.
Abilities
The Gigas come in three varieties, each with differing and similar abilities. When piloted by Sora, all types have a blaster, booster rockets for flight, and a punch attack. They also possess a Mag Assemble ability, allowing Sora to manipulate and move blocks.
- Gigas: Power Class possesses a powerful shoulder tackle attack.
- Gigas: Speed Class possesses twin shoulder cannons, and specializes in speed and agility.
- Gigas: Gunner Class possesses rapid-fire capabilities from its shoulder cannons, but has poor defense and is better suited for long-range.
In Verum Rex: Beat of Lead, "Ace" Gigas appear, being stronger than the usual variants. In addition to Ace versions of the standard three types, "Little Ace" Gigas are smaller variants that have no special abilities. The final opponent in Beat of Lead is the "Hyper Ace" Gigas, a golden variant that possesses the unique abilities of all three standard classes.
During the boss fight with Yozora, as part of his ultimate attack, he will summon several Ace Gigas to rush Sora. They are unblockable and have enough health and defense to not be destroyed by any physical attacks. Dodging or casting Magic is the only way around them.

When facing them on foot, Gigas are the most dangerous standard enemies in the game. They each have massive health, powerful attacks that hit a wide area, and won't flinch from basic attacks. It is thus not advised to fight them as such unless Sora is a very high level. Instead, one should take them on while riding a Gigas themselves, which greatly evens the playing field, or simply flee if the reward isn't worth the risk of taking them on.
One should note the Gigas' unique fighting styles when facing them. The Power class prefers to get up close and use powerful physical attacks, but have weak cannons. The Gunner class has powerful long-range attacks, but low health and can be floored from a single punch. Lastly, the Speed class has balanced stats and prefers to move a lot while launching Exploder blasts. Act according to their habits and your own Gigas's strengths - favoring punches and tackles in a Power-class, for example - and the enemies should be quick to fall.
If your Gigas is destroyed, the battle can quickly go south. Retreat and focus on finding another Gigas if this happens.
