Composition[edit]
"Turning the Key" is approximately sixteen seconds long in the original Kingdom Hearts. In the HD remake, however, the piece is seventeen seconds long. Due to its short nature, the piece lacks and introduction and conclusion, but refrains from looping. The instrumentation consists of: organ, choir, and harp. The underlying rhythm is a collection of chordal sixteenth notes, provided by the harp. Overlaying this is the organ and choir in much larger rhythmic divisions.
