  • San Fransokyo[2]: "A Super Problem"

Composition[edit]

Despite sharing a name, "Zero Hour -The Chase-" and "Zero Hour -The Rescue-" share practically no melodic material. They are tied together by their usage and implementation in Kingdom Hearts III and, in a broad sense, the overall structure of the tracks.

Imaginary Range puzzle theme.

Both versions of "Zero Hour" based on compositions by Yasuhiro Yamanaka from the 2011 Final Fantasy spinoff mobile game Imaginary Range. "Zero Hour -The Rescue-" is copied from a puzzle theme from Imaginary Range. The pieces are nearly identical in melody and structure, although the original has more electronic instrumentation and lacks an introduction. Likewise, the B section of "Zero Hour -The Chase-" has the exact same melody as the Chocobo Chaser theme from Imaginary Range, with similar changes to instrumentation. However, the Kingdom Hearts - III, II.8, Unchained χ & Union χ [Cross] - Original Soundtrack does not list Yasuhiro Yamanaka as a composer or collaborator of any kind.
