The Grid is a world based on the 2010 Disney film Tron: Legacy. The world's debut appearance has been confirmed for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Along with being one of three worlds based on live-action movies, the other being Port Royal and Space Paranoids. It is currently the most recent Disney movie to have a world based on it in the Kingdom Hearts series. The Grid is one of the seven worlds submerged in sleep that must be awakened by Sora and Riku.

Locations

From the game's recent trailers, it has been revealed that several areas based on the film will be playable, such as the Light Cycle arena and CLU 2's quarters.

Story

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Through trailers, Sora is shown fighting Rinzler and Riku is captured by CLU 2, where he is held on a Recognizer along with Sam Flynn. Sora also encounters a mysterious man in a Black Coat in this world.

At one point, Sora tries to get Rinzler to remember his past as Tron, but fails. Rinzler then throws his Identidy Disks towards the boy, but Quorra quickly appears and blocks the attack for him, though it still sends them both flying. Another scene shows CLU 2 offering to release Rinzler's free will in exchange for the Keyblade, which Sora quickly refuses.

Characters

Character Design

Like in Space Paranoids, Sora and Riku are converted into data and change forms accordingly. The forms resemble the outfits worn by other characters in the film. They both wear black suit with light blue circuitry, and visors, characteristic of participants in the Grid's Disk Wars competition. Sora's form also slightly resembles his Kingdom Hearts II design, but without the prongs.
