Composition
"Lazy Afternoons" is approximately one minute and twenty-four seconds long and plays at 74 beats per minute. It has a time signature of 4/4 throughout the entire piece and is written in the key of G Major. Unlike other field themes, "Lazy Afternoons" does have an introduction section which lasts thirteen seconds. This introduction phrase is used again at the end of the piece, allowing for smooth transitions for an infinite number of loops. Each loop is twenty-one measures long. The instrumentation varies by game. In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, the instrumentation consists of guitars, the vibraphone, harmonica, and strings. In Kingdom Hearts II, the instrumentation is the same save for the melody voicing; the harmonica is now replaced by a soprano saxophone. In the remake, the instrumentation is the same as found in Kingdom Hearts II. This time, however, the introduction phrase adds a syncopated part in the guitar.
