Rhyme is a character who makes her Kingdom Hearts debut in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. She originally appeared in The World Ends with You.

Development

Rhyme, along with Neku, Shiki, Joshua, and Beat, is one of the first characters to appear in the Kingdom Hearts series who originated from something other than Disney, Final Fantasy, or Kingdom Hearts fiction, although they are from another game that is property of Square Enix, as well as designed by Tetsuya Nomura.

Story

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

Rhyme appears in Sora's version of Traverse Town, missing most of her memories and lacking her partner Beat. When the Dream Eaters attack her, she is temporarily removed from existence by Joshua to save her.

Rhyme later appears in Riku's version of Traverse Town, remembering everything about herself and helping Beat fight off weaker Dream Eaters to allow Riku the time needed to slay the Spellican.

Personality

Rhyme possesses a calm and optimistic demeanor. Loyal and kind, Rhyme is always wearing a smile and is kind to everyone she meets, and despite her young age, she is reasonable and manages to keep everyone organized when she is around. She cares deeply about Beat, as she has no dreams except to help her brother.

Origin

Rhyme TWEWY.png

Rhyme is a character from Square Enix's The World Ends with You. Her real name is Raimu Bito, Beat's younger sister. Following him after he ran away, Rhyme unknowingly caused the event that took both their lives and led to them enrolling in the Reaper Game. However, as part of Beat's entry fee, Rhyme has no memory of them being siblings. During the game, Rhyme meets Neku Sakuraba and Shiki Misaki, encouraging Beat to have their two groups team up. However, during the fourth day when they head to Towa Tower, Rhyme sacrificed herself to save Beat from a Noise the Reapers placed in the area. Though her death would led to Beat's own demise due to the rules, the latter's life was spared when Rhyme's soul was infused in a Noise pin that manifests as a flying squirrel, Noise. By the end of the game, after deciding not to destroy Shibuya, Joshua gives Rhyme a second chance at life with her memories restored.

Trivia

  • Rhyme's render mimics her pose in one particular cutscene in The World Ends with You, where she and Beat erase a Noise.
