Subsequently, Ira summons the Foretellers for a meeting in the Foretellers' Chamber, declaring that there is a traitor among them after discovering a Nightmare Chirithy snooping around their home. Although the other Foretellers argue that the traitor could be someone from their Unions, Ira reasons that the bangles are the Nightmare's doing and the traitor has to be one of the Foretellers since only one of them could have obtained the bangles. Aced condemns Ira for spreading doubt amongst them and storms off on his own, adjuring the meeting. Afterwards, Invi questions Ira's strange behavior, who then confides in Invi about the existence of the Lost Page, an entry which depicts the events surrounding the traitor that has been excluded from the Foretellers' copies of the Book of Prophecies. As Ira believes that the traitor is whomever is in possession of the Lost Page, Invi promises to keep an eye on the others and report their actions back to Ira.

That night, while Player sleeps, they dream of the Clock Tower, where they see all five Foretellers meeting with someone in a Black Coat, [[Unknown (KHχ)|Unknown]]. Before Player can investigate however, they are surrounded by Darkness and pulled out of the dream; finding Chirithy to be sitting in the room with them when they wake. After witnessing Master Invi and Master Aced's battle and encountering the Black Garment Heartless and Nightmare Chirithy, Player and Skuld continue to the waterways where Player had last seen Ephemera. Skuld asks for confirmation that this is where Player had last seen Ephemera - admitting that she's sure that there's something secret ahead. Before Player and Skuld can continue however, Chirithy blocks their path and asks if they truly intend to keep going even with everything that they'd just seen, admitting that he has an awful feeling about all of this; looking to his feet while Player attempts to comfort him. Skuld asks if she's right to assume that Chirithy knows the layout of the Clock Tower's internal structure, which Chirithy confirms, only for Skuld to order him to lead them onward. Relenting, Chirithy agrees to Skuld's request, reminding Skuld and Player that going further into the Clock Tower really is forbidden, so they have to come right back after a quick peek inside; which Skuld promises to do.
One night, Player is shown a dream by Chirithy, in which Ira and the other Foretellers meet with the Master in the Foretellers' Chamber, though Nightmare Chirithy quickly puts a stop to this dream.{{storylink|Quest 351: A Job Never Done Pt. 1}}
As the three reach the room from Player's dream, Skuld asks where they are, and Chirithy explains that it is the last room - the Foretellers' room - prompting Skuld to question whether or not Ephemera made it that far. Given the situation, Chirithy mentions how, as they could see, there's no one there, and since they are not going to mess around with the things left in the room, it's time for them to go back as promised; stressing how they'd be in serious trouble if anyone found them up there. Skuld reluctantly agrees with Chirithy before taking another quick look around to be sure that there's really nothing up there, admitting that it feels as though they have been side-stepped, causing her to wonder what the dream with Ephemera really meant.

A few days later, Invi informs Ira that Aced and Gula have formed an alliance. Ira assumes that Aced is the traitor, though Invi argues that Aced's intentions indicate otherwise. However, Ira retorts that Aced is betraying the Master's teachings by forming alliances. As such, Invi volunteers to persuade Gula to dissolve his alliance with Aced, believing that Ira's intervention will only make things worse, which Ira accepts. Invi also mentions that Aced has begun to question their relationship, and as such, her reports to Ira will be less frequent.
Just then, a voice comes from behind the group, as Master Gula ventures in from the shadows and asks what Player and Skuld think they are doing. Skuld asks Gula to excuse them, as they are looking for a friend of theirs. Master Gula simply asks how Player and Skuld could've possibly gotten in there if Chirithy was accompanying them - only for Chirithy to apologize for bringing them. Walking past Player, Gula reveals that there was another trespasser a few days before, wondering if they were a friend of theirs, which Player confirms. Skuld then asks if Gula knows Ephemera, prompting Gula to elaborate that Ephemera belonged to a Union which was in direct conflict with their own goals as a Union, suggesting that Ephemera must have gotten close to Player and Skuld in order to gather information about their Union. Coldly, Gula states that there was no way they would be seeing Ephemera ever again. Skuld, realizing what Gula is getting at, hastens to admit to herself that Gula had gotten rid of Ephemera. Gula confirms that he'd had Ephemera disappear, prompting shock and concern from Player, Skuld and Chirithy. Skuld insists that Gula won't get away with this, only for Gula to ask what Skuld thinks she's going to do about it. Chirithy then motions to stop Skuld, telling her that she can't and informing Gula that it's his fault and that he is the one responsible for everything that's happened, begging Gula to forgive Player and Skuld.


Player then steps out in front of Chirithy, looking to Gula and stating that, until today, they'd devoted themselves to their Union, to gathering Light in order to save the world and they had even competed against fellow Keyblade wielders that they think of as friends. Originally, they had thought that it was just what had to be done in order to save the world, and so they had tried not to dwell on what it meant, but at the same time someone had asked him that same simple question ("What are you going to do about it?") and that person was none other than Ephemera. Player admits that their encounter with Ephemera was brief, and that Ephemera had even broken a promise with Player - so their memories of Ephemera aren't all good - but they are huge and important to their heart. Player continues, saying that their sure it's because Ephemera was his friend, and that even if these feelings of anger and sadness signify Darkness, simply pushing them away is impossible. Player states that even if it came to crossing their Keyblade against Master Gula, they don't think they'd come away from it with any kind of peace. Perhaps it'd mean they would disappear as well, yet their sure that if Ephemera were there he would do the same. Preparing his stance for battle, Player beckons Master Gula forward into battle, prompting Gula to summon his Keyblade and launch himself into battle against Player.

Despite putting up a good fight against Master Gula, Player is easily defeated. Following the battle, Player is engulfed in a blinding light, which fades to reveal that they are back in the waterways alongside Skuld and Chirithy. Master Gula tells Player that they'd avoided being swallowed by their anger and sadness, and that they'd fought well.

He accuses Ephemer of having befriended the Player solely to acquire information, and states that he eliminated Ephemer for this suspicion. Although Chirithy assures Ira that will not retaliate against him, Player decides to avenge Ephemer, but Ira emerges as the victor. Following Player's defeat, The Foreteller then radiates with light and reveals themselves to have actually been Master Ava the entire time, having generated the illusion of the Foreteller and the Clock Tower in order to test Player and Skuld's Hearts.
After Aced's debacle with the other Foretellers, Ira finds Aced hobbling weakly through the streets of Daybreak Town. Believing that Ira had come to finish him off, Aced collapses to the ground and requests Ira make his end swift. However, Ira explains that he will not eliminate Aced, as he wants to fulfill the role he was given by the Master. As it is forbidden to change the events of the future, Ira wants to continue working with Aced to ensure that light lives on, stressing that they cannot afford to lose any of the Foretellers. Aced is touched to hear that Ira still considers him to be a comrade and informs him that Gula has the Lost Page and that he has been using it to discern the identity of the traitor. While Gula claimed this to be his role, Aced remains unsure, as he is incapable of forgiving Gula's actions. Advising Aced to keep Gula's role a secret, Ira sets out to find the latter and retrieve the Lost Page.

Invi discloses Gula's whereabouts to Ira, prompting him to confront Ava, knowing that she is protecting Gula from him. Frightened by the possible consequences, Ava resolves to protect Gula from Ira, who calmly accepts this and leaves. In the time that follows, Gula begins collecting more and more Lux in order to summon [[Kingdom Hearts]] and force the Master to return in order to avert the Keyblade War. Subsequently, in order to maintain the balance, Ira and Aced also begin collecting more Lux, as Keyblade War draws nearer.
 
Sensing Aced's bloodlust, Ira arrives at the Fountain Square just as Aced disqualified Player as a Keyblade wielder and rebukes Aced for attacking another wielder. Although Aced claims to have been merely testing Player's strength, Ira points out that it had been Aced's bloodlust that drew him to their location. Aced argues that the Keyblade War is not unavoidable, and that the other Foretellers, including Ira, are becoming desperate to collect more Lux, and blames Ira and other Foretellers for intensifying the situation. Aced reveals he will unify all of the Unions and appoints himself as leader after he banished Ira and the other Foretellers. Ira dismisses his foolish plot and warns Aced that his arrogance will lead to his downfall. Aced states that he will be waiting for Ira at the place of the final battle before taking his leave. Once the crowd disperses, Ira affirms that the Keyblade War is unavoidable to Player, [[Skuld]], and Chirithy and tasks Skuld and Player to prepare themselves for the war as he departs.

Foreteller Ira is a young man with light skin who wears a white and gold unicorn mask and a white hooded cloak over a light blue robe, shirt, and sash, each with gold embroidering. His shirt is worn beneath his cloak, is fastened by the sash, and has long sleeves that extend slightly past his wrists. The tassels on the front of the cloak are gold in coloration.
Ira is a young man who hides his face under a white unicorn mask that has a gold trim. His white, hooded cloak covers a robe, shirt, and sash that are all light blue in coloration and have gold embroidering. Gold tassels appear on the front of Ira's cloak.

Ira is a reliable and thorough individual with a no-nonsense attitude. As the leader of the Foretellers, he displays this attitude when he rebukes Aced for raising his Keyblade against another. He is a mindful individual; he takes care to preserve the events that lead to the future, and tries not to upset the balance between the Unions when Gula starts collecting more Lux.
 
He can, however, be quick to make assumptions about people and about the state of affairs. He is quick to assume that there is a traitor among the five Foretellers, and he is also quick to assume that the traitor is the [[Gula|person in possession of the Lost Page]].

Foreteller Ira wields a Keyblade that has a black handle, contrasting with a silver white pommel and guard resembling clouds. The curvature of the guard resembles a harp or lyre. The base is an etching of a white unicorn with a silvery mane and horn and yellow eyes and with red and black detail. Around the horn are rings of red, black, and silver spikes separated by gold. The shaft of the blade is silver with shining white edges. Etched into the shaft in gold and filled with black are four elongated heart-like shapes, the fourth of which resembles [[Terra's Mark]]. Eight silver spikes shoot out from around the final etching. From the uppermost spike of one side to the bottom of the other a black semicircle with silver edges appears to go through the spikes. This and a few additional spikes set in the ring form the teeth. The Keychain is made of white crystals, and the token on the end features five white spikes encircled by a white ring, with the [[Gazing Eye]] at the center.

Unicornus: The Keyblade's main colors are varying shades of white with some blackish-blue. The blade looks as though it has been shaped by a diamond cutter and has a pointed design. The guard is made of two S-shaped clouds or snow banks. The handle is a dark-grey architectural column. The hilt bears a unicorn with its horn sticking out from the Keyblade. The end of the blade possesses many sharp spikes resembling a stretched "X" shape, with another spike on the side which is connected to a blackish-blue crescent structure with a white outline, which in turn is connected to the top two spikes. In the center of the "X" is a blackish heart-like symbol with a pale golden-yellow outline. The Keychain's links have a similar design to the token and the end of the blade. He is a reliable Keyblade Master and leader of the Union Unicornis. The Master often makes fun of his serious nature.
His role is to become the new leader of the foretellers after the Master vanishes.

Ira is a Keyblade Master who appears in Kingdom Hearts χ. As a Foreteller, he leads the Unicornis Union and is an apprentice of the Master of Masters.

Story[edit]

Before Kingdom Hearts χ[edit]

Ira is given a Keyblade forged from his own heart by the Master of Masters, who takes Ira, Aced, Ava, Gula, Invi, and Luxu as his apprentices. Ira eventually achieves the rank of Keyblade Master alongside his fellow apprentices.[citation needed]

Shortly thereafter, the Master gives a copy of the Book of Prophecies to Ira and grants him leadership over the Unicornis Union as its Foreteller. As Ira and the other Foretellers read their copies of the Book of Prophecies, they are shocked by the final entry, which details an event known as the Keyblade War, during which light would expire and the world would reach its end.

Sometime after Luxu mysteriously disappeared to fulfill his role assigned to him by the Master, the Master meets with Ira in the outskirts of Daybreak Town and tasks Ira to act as the leader in the event of his own demise. Ira questions if anything can be done to avoid the fate of the Keyblade War, which the Master denies, explaining that fated events cannot be changed, thus they need to focus on what comes after. However, Ira remains adamant and opts to attempt to avert this end by gathering enough Keyblade wielders.

Ira and his fellow Foretellers are soon introduced to the Master's new creation, the Chirithy. Though the Spirit Chirithy are meant to aid Keyblade wielders in their endeavors, the Master warns them that if a wielder falls to darkness, so will their Chirithy, causing them to transform into a Nightmare.

Without warning, the Master disappears from the world, and although the Foretellers actively seek him out, they are unable to locate him. Upholding the Master's teachings, Ira and the other Foretellers begin recruiting Keyblade wielders to each of their Unions, utilizing the powers of their copies of the Book of Prophecies in the form of Medals to aid their wielders in collecting Lux to maintain the balance of power. Having watched Player defeat countless Heartless throughout Daybreak Town, Ira commends them on their abilities. Ira suggests that Player should fight alongside the other Unicornis Union members to defeat larger Heartless and then leaves them to defeat a Darkside. Once the Darkside is defeated, Ira reappears and warns Player that there are others who collect light for nefarious purposes. He allows Player to discern who walks the path of darkness before he departs. Quest 3: Combat 102

Over time, the Foretellers notice Keyblade wielders utilizing bangles that provides them the power to collect dark energy, though they decide that using the bangles was acceptable for their Union members. Subsequently, Ira summons the Foretellers for a meeting in the Foretellers' Chamber, declaring that there is a traitor among them after discovering a Nightmare Chirithy snooping around their home. Although the other Foretellers argue that the traitor could be someone from their Unions, Ira reasons that the bangles are the Nightmare's doing and the traitor has to be one of the Foretellers since only one of them could have obtained the bangles. Aced condemns Ira for spreading doubt amongst them and storms off on his own, adjuring the meeting. Afterwards, Invi questions Ira's strange behavior, who then confides in Invi about the existence of the Lost Page, an entry which depicts the events surrounding the traitor that has been excluded from the Foretellers' copies of the Book of Prophecies. As Ira believes that the traitor is whomever is in possession of the Lost Page, Invi promises to keep an eye on the others and report their actions back to Ira.

When Neoshadows appear in Daybreak Town, Player joins three other Keyblade wielders in their efforts to quash the darkness being spread by the new species of Heartless; however, Player is the only survivor. After Chirithy witnesses another of its kind fade, Ira appears to speak with Player, revealing that while the Keyblade wielders are gathering Lux at an amazing rate, the darkness is spreading even faster. Chirithy asks if that means that there really is a traitor among them, to which Ira states that he is not willing to believe that yet. Quest 250: Heartless Havoc: Fountain Square

One night, Player is shown a dream by Chirithy, in which Ira and the other Foretellers meet with the Master in the Foretellers' Chamber, though Nightmare Chirithy quickly puts a stop to this dream. Quest 351: A Job Never Done Pt. 1

A few days later, Invi informs Ira that Aced and Gula have formed an alliance. Ira assumes that Aced is the traitor, though Invi argues that Aced's intentions indicate otherwise. However, Ira retorts that Aced is betraying the Master's teachings by forming alliances. As such, Invi volunteers to persuade Gula to dissolve his alliance with Aced, believing that Ira's intervention will only make things worse, which Ira accepts. Invi also mentions that Aced has begun to question their relationship, and as such, her reports to Ira will be less frequent.

After Player successfully completes the Dark Corridor Trials, Chirithy reports back to Ira, who is pleased to hear of their progress, but Chirithy questions the wisdom of assigning such a dangerous mission. Ira laments that he has no choice but to hasten Player's training, as he must strengthen their resistance to darkness as quickly as possible and obtain as many warriors as they can get on the side of light. When Player, Chirithy, and Skuld enter the Foretellers' Chamber in search of Ephemer, they are caught by Ira. Ira divulges he caught Ephemer in the Foretellers' Chamber several days before and that Ephemer's Union collects Lux for a reason conflicting with that of the Player's Union. He accuses Ephemer of having befriended the Player solely to acquire information, and states that he eliminated Ephemer for this suspicion. Although Chirithy assures Ira that will not retaliate against him, Player decides to avenge Ephemer, but Ira emerges as the victor. As Player is cast to the ground, the façade of the Foretellers' Chamber fades away and the group find themselves in the sewers with Ava, who explains that she disguised herself as Ira in order to test Player and Skuld. After Aced's debacle with the other Foretellers, Ira finds Aced hobbling weakly through the streets of Daybreak Town. Believing that Ira had come to finish him off, Aced collapses to the ground and requests Ira make his end swift. However, Ira explains that he will not eliminate Aced, as he wants to fulfill the role he was given by the Master. As it is forbidden to change the events of the future, Ira wants to continue working with Aced to ensure that light lives on, stressing that they cannot afford to lose any of the Foretellers. Aced is touched to hear that Ira still considers him to be a comrade and informs him that Gula has the Lost Page and that he has been using it to discern the identity of the traitor. While Gula claimed this to be his role, Aced remains unsure, as he is incapable of forgiving Gula's actions. Advising Aced to keep Gula's role a secret, Ira sets out to find the latter and retrieve the Lost Page.

Invi discloses Gula's whereabouts to Ira, prompting him to confront Ava, knowing that she is protecting Gula from him. Frightened by the possible consequences, Ava resolves to protect Gula from Ira, who calmly accepts this and leaves. In the time that follows, Gula begins collecting more and more Lux in order to summon Kingdom Hearts and force the Master to return in order to avert the Keyblade War. Subsequently, in order to maintain the balance, Ira and Aced also begin collecting more Lux, as Keyblade War draws nearer.

Sensing Aced's bloodlust, Ira arrives at the Fountain Square just as Aced disqualified Player as a Keyblade wielder and rebukes Aced for attacking another wielder. Although Aced claims to have been merely testing Player's strength, Ira points out that it had been Aced's bloodlust that drew him to their location. Aced argues that the Keyblade War is not unavoidable, and that the other Foretellers, including Ira, are becoming desperate to collect more Lux, and blames Ira and other Foretellers for intensifying the situation. Aced reveals he will unify all of the Unions and appoints himself as leader after he banished Ira and the other Foretellers. Ira dismisses his foolish plot and warns Aced that his arrogance will lead to his downfall. Aced states that he will be waiting for Ira at the place of the final battle before taking his leave. Once the crowd disperses, Ira affirms that the Keyblade War is unavoidable to Player, Skuld, and Chirithy and tasks Skuld and Player to prepare themselves for the war as he departs.

When the Keyblade War breaks out in the Badlands, Ira leads the Unicornis Union into battle. During the battle, Ira witnesses Aced assailing Player and steps in to save them. Furious, Aced sets his sights on Ira instead, chasing after him as he retreats from Aced's attacks.

Later, after collapsing from his battle with Gula, Ira approaches Player and engages them in a vicious battle. Ira is then attacked from behind by Aced, but is able to defend himself. Aced announces his intent on remaking the world as its new leader, though Ira states that he must not disturb the balance. Aced blocks Ira's assault and retreats, with Ira following close behind.

Design[edit]

Ira is a young man who hides his face under a white unicorn mask that has a gold trim. His white, hooded cloak covers a robe, shirt, and sash that are all light blue in coloration and have gold embroidering. Gold tassels appear on the front of Ira's cloak.

Ira's name is derived from the word ira, which means "wrath" in Latin and is represented by a unicorn in the Ancrene Wisse.

Personality[edit]

Ira is a reliable and thorough individual with a no-nonsense attitude. As the leader of the Foretellers, he displays this attitude when he rebukes Aced for raising his Keyblade against another. He is a mindful individual; he takes care to preserve the events that lead to the future, and tries not to upset the balance between the Unions when Gula starts collecting more Lux.

He can, however, be quick to make assumptions about people and about the state of affairs. He is quick to assume that there is a traitor among the five Foretellers, and he is also quick to assume that the traitor is the person in possession of the Lost Page.

Abilities[edit]

Foreteller Ira wields a Keyblade that has a black handle, contrasting with a silver white pommel and guard resembling clouds. The curvature of the guard resembles a harp or lyre. The base is an etching of a white unicorn with a silvery mane and horn and yellow eyes and with red and black detail. Around the horn are rings of red, black, and silver spikes separated by gold. The shaft of the blade is silver with shining white edges. Etched into the shaft in gold and filled with black are four elongated heart-like shapes, the fourth of which resembles Terra's Mark. Eight silver spikes shoot out from around the final etching. From the uppermost spike of one side to the bottom of the other a black semicircle with silver edges appears to go through the spikes. This and a few additional spikes set in the ring form the teeth. The Keychain is made of white crystals, and the token on the end features five white spikes encircled by a white ring, with the Gazing Eye at the center.

Ira is a overall well rounded fighter, being capable in both magic and melee combat. His signature attack, Horn Strike, has him summon pillars of light to trap his opponent and then shatter them with a light wave, dealing massive damage.
