Play Arts were a set of officially-licensed action figures for Kingdom Hearts, made between Square Enix and Japanese figure company Kotobukiya, and are part of Square-Enix's much larger Play Arts line. The Play Arts line ended in 2010 after Square Enix ended the contact with Kotobukiya and switch over to a new revamp line of figures; Play Arts Kai.
List of Released Figures
Series One Figures
Each figure is fully articulated and comes with one or two props related to the game, usually weapons. The figures were released as follows:
- 1. Sora, in his Kingdom Hearts II Standard Form. Comes with the Kingdom Key. Initial released in September 2006 with a re-released in December 2007.
- 2. Roxas, in his Simulated Twilight Town outfit. Comes with the Kingdom Key and sea-salt ice cream. Initial released in September 2006 with a re-released in June 2008.
- 3. Kairi, in her school outfit from the Destiny Islands. Comes with her school bag. Initial released in September 2006.
- 4. Axel, in his standard Organization XIII outfit. Comes with two Eternal Flames Chakrams. Initial released in September 2006 with a re-released in June 2008.
Five special edition figures of Sora were released, one for each of his Drive Forms.
- Valor Form Sora, with the Fenrir and Fatal Crest Keyblades. Initial released in September 2006.
- Wisdom Form Sora, with the Follow the Wind Keyblade. Initial released in September 2006.
- Master Form Sora, with the Guardian Soul and Circle of Life Keyblades. Initial released in September 2006.
- Final Form Sora, with the Sleeping Lion and Hero's Crest Keyblades. Initial released in September 2006.
- Limit Form Sora, with the Kingdom Key. Initial released in September 2006.
Series Two Figures
This set features two characters in the first Kingdom Hearts style and one from Kingdom Hearts II style. They are as follows:
- 1. Sora in his standard outfit from the first game, with Kingdom Key. Initial released in December 2008.
- 2. Riku in his standard outfit from the first game, with Soul Eater. Initial released in December 2008.
- 3. King Mickey in his organization cloak, with Kingdom Key D. Initial released in December 2008.
Series Three Figures
This series features characters in their original Kingdom Hearts designs; the released figures are as follows:
- 1. Sora in his Halloween Town outfit, with the Pumpkinhead Keyblade. Initial released in April 2009.
- 2. Cloud Strife in his first outfit from Olympus Coliseum with the bandaged Buster Sword. Initial released in April 2009.
- 3. Sephiroth in outfit from Olympus Coliseum, with his Masamune. Initial released in April 2009.
Series Four Figures
The characters in this set include:
- 1. Sora in his Christmas Town outfit from Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, with the Decisive Pumpkin Keyblade. Initial released in April 2010.
- 2. King Mickey in his standard outfit from Kingdom Hearts II, with Kingdom Key D. Initial released in April 2010.
- 3. Jack Skellington and Zero from Kingdom Hearts II Initial released in April 2010.
Play Arts Arms
In August 2008, a set of five extra Keyblades, called Play Arts Arms were released to go with the existing Play Arts figures or to display separately. The collection includes:
