Kingdom Hearts Magical AR Stage

Kingdom Hearts Magical AR Stage is an augmented reality experience created to promote and celebrate the release Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. It was released on the Japanese Square Enix website on November 11, 2020 and was discontinued on March 31, 2021. Square Enix also released a video containing the content of the AR mini-film in a regular 2D format.

Kingdom Hearts Magical AR Stage could be played through the Japanese Square Enix website on a mobile device. Through the website, the device's camera would be used to target a PDF of the augmented reality score which would activate the AR component. The video itself consists of five parts, with each stage following a section of a music track from Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. Sora runs across a musical score while hitting enemies or icons to the rhythm of the music.

The first stage is set to the recording of "Destati" from the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra -World Tour- album. Sora runs along a musical staff and defeats Shadows. The visuals are themed around the Dive to the Heart, and various scenes from the Dive to the Heart Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II appear in the foreground.

The second stage is "Working Together". Sora begins in an area themed around the Gummi Ship garage. As the scene progresses, he travels past an assortment of worlds from Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. At the end, the video shifts to a first-person perspective as Sora pilots the Gummi Ship, flying past worlds from Kingdom Hearts II.

The third stage, "The 13th Struggle", begins in Where Nothing Gathers. Sora fights against Dusks as quotes and scenes of members Organization XIII members float by. The music staff breaks, and Sora is sent plummeting to the Keyblade Graveyard, where he fends of a hoard of Shadows as moments from the showdown with the real Organization XIII appear around him.

The fourth stage is "Hikari -KINGDOM Orchestra Instrumental Version-". Sora runs through The Final World, and scenes from the end of Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts III appear behind him. The fifth and final stage is "Dearly Beloved -Swing Version-". Unlike the other stages, it requires the AR viewing device to be held in a vertical orientation. Sora, Donald, and Goofy wave at the camera, ending the show. An advertisement for Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory is displayed.
