Kingdom Hearts: The Ultimate Handbook is an officially-licensed guide to the characters and story of the Kingdom Hearts series.
Contents[edit]
The book contains pictures and information about the many characters of the Kingdom Hearts series, with an emphasis on Kingdom Hearts III. It is written at a level intended for a reading age of 8-12 years old, so the language is designed to be simple to understand.
The first chapter of the book is the Glossary. It covers the basics of the Kingdom Hearts universe, such as Heartless, Nobodies, Keyblades; major forces of good and evil, such as Organization XIII, the Guardians of Light, and the Thirteen Seekers of Darkness; key locations, such as the Realm of Darkness, Castle Oblivion, and Traverse Town; and some important background lore, such as the Age of Fairy Tales, Kingdom Hearts, and the χ-blade.
After a short segue chapter titled Introduction to the Heroes, the book begins to detail the characters of Kingdom Hearts in the Heroes chapter. The book introduces each character with a quote and provides a brief description of their personality and activities. Each page is complete with a picture of the character and one extra piece of trivia; some characters, such as Sora, span multiple pages. The following two chapters, Introduction to the Villains and Villains, are structured identically. The book concludes with a quick Farewell chapter.
The paperback edition of the book comes with a fold-out poster of the Gathering Key Art.
