The Maverick Flare is a Keyblade that can be wielded by Roxas and Xion in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to the Maverick Flare+.

Design

The handle of the Maverick Flare is a simple grey rod. The blade is yellow orange at its base and slowly darkens to red as it nears the tip. The blade fans out near the tip, which is flat at the top and slanted. The teeth of the Keyblade are comprised of several spikes shaped like those of the Nobody sigil, all of which slant upward slightly. The guard is black and does not connect to the base of the blade, similar the guard on the Rainfell Keyblade, and it sports two black spikes on either side. The Keychain token is a red-orange color. The Ominous Blight and Maverick Flare are palette swaps of each other.

Gameplay

This Keyblade's ground combo consists of a thrust, a diagonal upward slash from the right leg, the same slash from the left leg, and finishes with a jump back and a rushing spinning slash from the left side. Tapping Y after the slash from the left will a different combo ending consisting of a jumping, vertical, downward slash and an additional tap of Y will cause a downward thrust. The aerial combo consists of a vertical downward slash and a powerful downward thrust.
