- "Once I take you down, yo, me and Rhyme is goin' back to where we belong!"
- —Beat to Riku
Daisukenojo Bito, more commonly known by the nickname Beat, is a character who appears in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. He appears in Traverse Town alongside Joshua.[1]
Development
Beat, along with Neku, Joshua, Shiki, and Rhyme, is one of the first characters to appear in the Kingdom Hearts series who originated from something other than a Disney property, Final Fantasy, or Kingdom Hearts fiction, although he is from another game that is property of Square Enix, and is also designed by Tetsuya Nomura.
Origin
Daisukenojo "Beat" Bito is a character from Square Enix's The World Ends with You. Beat is a harsh, reckless, and rather dense youth, though he has a heart of gold. He cares very much for his little sister (and partner in the Reaper's Game) Rhyme, who constantly keeps Beat's rash attitude in check. He first shows up with Rhyme to help Neku and Shiki as players, and formed an alliance. However, over the course of the Game, Rhyme is erased, due to her taking an attack meant for Beat. Left without a partner, Beat joins the Reapers and often appears to challenge Neku and Joshua to fight during Neku's second week. He eventually becomes Neku's partner during his third Reaper's Game.
Trivia
- Beat's render mimics one of his artworks from The World Ends with You.
