Spirit recipes[edit]

How should the DDD table be structured? I was thinking of three columns: Name - Materials - Location. (For the materials, is there already a page with a list of Dream Pieces? I can't seem to find it.)
Also, I think it'd be better if all the tables in this article looked the same (not different alignment on the page and different colors like now). --Wind Prism (talk) 08:54, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

We dont have a page for the Dream Pieces yet, here is what we collected so far. If we don't plan to do another page for Dream Eater breeding in general we should also include the synthesis from materials itself and how the rank of the Dream Eater can be improved. The table wouldn't be much different though but you should at least include a rank column. --ShardofTruth (talk) 10:51, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
I have the English names of most of the Dream Pieces, should I edit the table on that page or just add a comment below it? And what do you mean with "the synthesis from materials itself"? (English isn't my native language so I find it hard to understand things sometimes, sorry.) --Wind Prism (talk) 11:09, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
English isn't my native language either so maybe I wrote complete garbage. Anyway, I don't have the game yet so I don't know the game's terms but it's somehow possible to breed Dream Eaters directly from materials instead of recipes. Take this page of the Japanese wiki for example. There is a column for the Dream Eater's name, two for the used ingredients, one for the resulting rank and one for the the location of the recipe. In the Japanese version there was no way to get the recipes for the remaining rare Dream Eaters you didn't unlock with the first AR card, they had to be bred by fusing the Dream Pieces without it. Again, I'm not sure how this works so I could be heavly mistaken.
As for the Dream Pieces: In the past we divided the synthesis items in families. We will most likely do this again for KH3D, so the table isn't final. You could add the official translation there or as notes below, that's up to you. --ShardofTruth (talk) 12:37, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
Creating spirits with out without recipe requires the same minimum amount of materials, except that without recipe you have to blindly match them to see what you can get. Both with and without recipe you can increase how many of each material to use, and that's what increases the rank (I assume that using the recipe without increasing anything gives you the lowest rank possible for that Spirit and that's what the Japanese wiki lists as rank). --Wind Prism (talk) 13:02, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

So it's effectively always the same recipe, you just can try to do it without it (as it's the case for command melding in BBS and Re:coded), thanks for the clarification. --ShardofTruth (talk) 13:35, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

It seems you can't get recipes for R & R Seal, Frootz Cat or Kab Kannon, but unlike the Japanese version you can still breed them. --ShardofTruth 15:22, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

I hit the recipe for the Kab Kannon (2 Brilliant Fantasy, 2 Savage Fantasy), and the Frootz Cat, (2 Brilliant Fantasy, 2 Charming Fantasy)... can't find one for the R&R Seal though... Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off. - Erry 23:20, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
FYI, guys; this page covers the Recipe item. While I think it's a good idea to list which recipes each Recipe...lists, the Key Item recipes only ever list the one recipe."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 01:49, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
Thing is, the AR Dream Eaters DON'T' have a Recipe Key Item. Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off. - Erry 09:21, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
That's fine then. I've removed them from the list, and we'll just list their recipes on their pages, as we did for KH1 and KHBBS."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 13:28, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

I think the recipes for Escarglow, Fin Fatale, Fishboné, Hebby Repp, KO Kabuto, Me Me Bunny, Pricklemane, Tatsu Blaze and Woeflower can only be bought from the Moggle Shop. --ShardofTruth (talk) 22:11, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

Questions:
  • I obtained the Thunderaffe Recipe by clearing Riku's fourth Special Portal in Traverse Town. Is this a glitch, or does this work for all special portal recipes?
  • Are the shop Recipes added to the universal shop menu once the worlds are visited, like in KHII, or are they tied to a specific shop?

Formatting[edit]

How should we format the 3D table? Recipe, Makes, Obtained or Recipe, Obtained, Ingredients (with sub-sections) ? I'll like to continue formatting to finish the table as it is part of my independent project I'll kick off soon and the wiki would like it done. :^) yAgIogp.pngANX219 02:00, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

There's multiple methods of creating a Dream Eater; a recipe only lists one of the possible ways. Thus, the "Ingredients" column is needed to show which method the recipe uses. That information also needs to be explained on the Dream Eater articles. However, double check that this is true first since there's a high chance that I'm wrong here. KH3D Recipes[edit]

TheSilentHero Ah well. Can't all be heroes. — 14:51, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
Should the KH3D section really cover all possible recipes for making a Dream Eater or just the Recipes you get as items?

ngM1OTj.png
TheFifteenthMember Yes. You're creepy. I can't say we'll miss you while you're gone, so it'd be best if you did go. We all win that way. TheFifteenthMember 15:03, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
Just the Recipes you get as items. Alternative recipes should go on the individual Dream Eater pages.

"When you try your best but you don't succeed......" RIP Hard work. You should have told me earlier, FM! yAgIogp.pngANX219 15:18, 1 November 2014 (UTC)

Sorry. :< TheFifteenthMember 16:28, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
I'm fairly certain each buyable recipe can be obtained from a special portal, and if I recall correctly, recipes can also be obtained from link portals sent by friends. What does the Ultimania fox say?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 21:11, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
Not all buyable recipes, but some are. I don't know about the Streetpass Portals, though. TheSilentHero 17:08, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Have we personally checked this? Has someone done a playthrough where they never bought a recipe but also did the special portals?

Instead of using Syntesis, can we use, "Created in the Create Spirits menu." Or "Created in the Spirits Menu." I don't think Synthesis was ever mentioned in that game. — 14:01, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

If synthesis was never mentioned in the game, then that's a better description.

TheFifteenthMember I hope it's slow and painful; the elation I get from such kills is unmatched by anything, yeeeess... Just thinking about it makes me... oohhh... TheFifteenthMember 20:55, 31 October 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure it had a name. I think it was just a "Create Spirit" menu like RtB said.

Clarification[edit]

Does each synthesis consume a recipe in KHD? TheFifteenthMember 17:19, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

I believe it does. TheSilentHero 17:56, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
Recipes in KHD are actually one of the ingredients, so we wouldn't list them in the "requires"."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 18:12, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

KH2 Recipes[edit]

Do these count as key items? I can't remember how they show up in the inventory. TheFifteenthMember 18:47, 1 November 2015 (UTC)

DDDHD Recipes[edit]

Both the R&R Seal Recipe and Tubguin Ace Recipe can be bought from the Moogle Shop for 200 munny when first visiting LCdC. TheSilentHero 14:20, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

Catanuki Recipe: Chest in Tunnels (LCdC) - Sora. TheSilentHero 16:01, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
Frootz Cat & Kab Kannon Recipe: Moogle Shop (Shop Level 7) - 500 munny. TheSilentHero 16:14, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
Beatalike Recipe: Moogle Shop (Shop Level 8) - 1000 munny. TheSilentHero 15:58, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
I know there's been recipes that I could acquire both through Shop and through Special/Friend portals in the 3DS game, so maybe we should also do runs where we only get recipes for free and only get recipes from the shop, just to check what's what."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 15:14, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
As far as I know, you can only get recipes from the Rare Dream Eaters in Special Portals, and since the new Dream Eaters are all Spirits, they shouldn't be available through Portals. And the other Recipes are covered in the Ultimania. So far, I haven't encountered any differences in obtaining recipes in DDDHD. TheSilentHero 17:44, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
