Story

Kingdom Hearts

Sally holds one of the ingredients for the Heart that Dr. Finkelstein is creating to control the Heartless. She has the Forget-Me-Not that signifies the heart's memory.

She is against Jack trying to use the Heartless in his Halloween plans.

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories

Sally took the potion that releases one's true memories from Dr. Finkelstein. She did it to try to prevent anything from happening. Oogie Boogie, however, steals it from her before she can give it to Jack.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days

Although Sally does not directly appear in this game, she is briefly mentioned by Dr. Finkelstein, saying she spotted Lock, Shock, and Barrel causing havoc.

Kingdom Hearts II

Sally, being the voice of reason, tries to convince Jack that his new ideas may have harmful side-effects. She does not like the idea of Jack trying to do Santa Claus's job. However, she still makes him a Santa suit.

She often runs between Halloween Town and Christmas Town telling Sora and Jack about Heartless attacking or other events.

In the end, Sally helps Jack realize that the most important thing about Christmas is not gifts, but the act of giving gifts and one's heart to another.

Appearance

Sally is a living rag doll, and, as a result, her body is covered in seams and stitches. She has pale blue skin and is a bit more realistically proportioned when compared to other Halloween Town residents like Jack, albeit Sally's neck is quite long and her hands and feet are rather small. There are stitches on each of Sally's wrists, a few on her arms and legs, several on her upper chest, one on her neck, one at the top of her head, and one on each corner of her mouth, the last of which makes her looks as if she is sporting a Glasgow smile. She wears red lipstick and nail-polish and has long eyelashes, and her feet are covered by black shoes, worn over baggy, black-and-white striped socks. Her long, brown hair reaches down to her hips and is parted in the middle.

Sally's clothing consists of a worn, tattered dress made up of many different scraps of cloth sewn together. While it is predominantly pale pink and grey, Sally's dress has small areas of yellow and green near around her left and right shoulders, respectively, and each individual patch is covered in a unique black or grey pattern (save for a few patches that are a solid color).

Personality

Sally is an extremely kind and thoughtful person. She is also very intuitive and smart, always looking ahead and solving problems. She is restless, though. She has never liked being held back by Dr. Finkelstein and often tries to escape. According to Dr. Finklestein, she has always been a worrywart, which is proven by how she often has a bad feeling or worries about nearly all of Jack's choices. Also, she is compared to Kairi by Goofy because they have similar personalities.

Origin

Sally originates from Tim Burton's stop motion classic 1993 film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. In the beginning of the film, Sally, who has become resentful of her creator's, Dr. Finklestein's, over-protectiveness, tries to leave his laboratory. However, Dr. Finlestein catches her and attempts to bring her back, but Sally hides in a graveyard, leaving one of her arms behind with him. There, she overhears Jack's sorrowfully singing about his weariness of his life, and comes to realize her romantic feelings for him. Though she returns to her creator's laboratory afterwards, she once again sneaks out to attend a town meeting Jack has called after slipping a neurotic known as nightshade into Dr. Finklestein's soup. Sally is fascinated by the things Jack brought back from Christmas Town, she feels rather anxious about his plans to take over Christmas as Santa Claus.

As punishment for what she did, Dr. Finklestein locks Sally in her room upon her return home. Trapped, she decides to make a gift basket for Jack. After escaping her imprisonment by throwing herself out of the tower (and patching herself together again), she goes to Jack to deliver the basket to him, but scurries off before Jack could thank her. Sometime later on, when Sally had an ominous premonition about the destruction of Christmas, she becomes determined to convince Jack that his plans are a mistake to no avail, and was even asked by Jack to sew a Santa Claus costume for him. Despite being distraught, Sally complies and crafts the suit for him. After Sally witnessed Lock, Shock, and Barrel arrive with Santa Claus and Jack takes his hat from him, Sally attempts to ruin Jack's plan by pouring a jar of nightshade into the fountain to create a heavy fog in an act of desperation to stop Jack. However, Jack's pet dog Zero reveals his glowing nose which Jack immediately uses to guide his sleigh, forcing Sally to watch in horror and sadness as Jack takes off.

In order to save Jack from ruining Christmas, she goes to rescue Santa from Oogie Boogie, but she is captured. Fortunately, Jack comes to save Sally and Santa. Once Oogie Boogie is defeated, Santa tells Jack that Sally is "the only one who makes any sense around this insane asylum". Jack tells Sally that he appreciates what she has attempted to do for him and reciprocates her feelings for him. At the end, the two share a kiss while Zero looks on. She was voiced by Catherine O'Hara.
