"Under the Sea" (アンダー・ザ・シー Andā za Shī ) is a series of music tracks and songs set in Atlantica. All versions of Under the Sea are included in the Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack Complete.
Under the Sea was originally a song in Disney's 1989 The Little Mermaid, which won the Academy Award for Best Song. It was because of this that Under the Sea was used as the soundtrack in Atlantica . It was originally composed by Alan Menken and written by Howard Ashman.
Versions
Kingdom Hearts
Under the Sea is the background music for Atlantica and features no vocals, just instrumentals arranged by Yoko Shimomura.
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
This version is a remix of the version in Kingdom Hearts. Its main difference is that it has a slightly different pitch than the original.
Kingdom Hearts II
In this game, Under the Sea is the third Song Mission and visually is a recreation of the original version in The Little Mermaid. It contains vocals, contributed by Sebastian, Arial, and even Sora, but the song is shorter than the original. The most logical reason for this is so the Song Mission isn't too repetitive and boring.
Song Mission
How to unlock
This song becomes available after Sora obtains a Drive Gauge level of 5 and talks to Sebastian again in Atlantica.
Requirements
In the mission, you have to raise the mermaid icon to the top of the bar. The trick to this segment is that you have to press and only press it when it shows Ariel; should it show Sebastian, just let it pass without pressing anything. If you succeed, Ariel is closer to no longer being glum, and the story line continues.
