Template:InfoCharacter Gopher is a resident of the 100 Acre Wood and a friend of Pooh. Though the 100 Acre Wood appears in previous games, Gopher does not appear until Kingdom Hearts II. He is first met in Piglet's House. Of all residents, he is the only one who literally lives underground, and digs through the ground to make a living. During the Hunny Slider mini-game, Gopher helps by acting as a buffer between Pooh and pieces of wood or other obstacles.

Gopher is an excavation expert. That is, he's a specialist at digging holes. Whenever you need to find him, just look for a mound of fresh dirt.

Story

Kingdom Hearts II

Gopher has a minor role in the 100 Acre Wood's storyline. He appears three times, the first at Piglet's House warning Pooh of "Windsday." His second appearance is at the Spooky Cave helping Sora search for Pooh. His final appearance is at Starry Hill saying goodbye to Sora.

Appearance

Gopher is, unsurprisingly, an anthropomorphic gopher with grey fur over most of his body. His upper lip and belly are both light grey, and his hands, feet, tail, and nose are all black. He has rather thick legs, but very thin wrists. He has three toes on each foot and four fingers on each hand. Gopher has two large, white, bucked teeth and three black whiskers on either side of his upper lip. He has black eyes and small ears.

Personality

Gopher has a very plain personality; he is rarely seen outside of his burrow so not much is known about him socially. He is generally a hard-worker, especially in his tunnels and spends most of his time tediously working on them. Despite his low social life, Gopher is not a silent character, while talking to the other animals he has a habit of whistling out his sibilant constants.

Trivia

  • Gopher is one of only two characters from the 100 Acre Wood that does not appear in Kingdom Hearts, the other being Kanga.
  • Gopher is the only character in 100 Acre Wood who did not appear in the original books (which he references when he debuts). He used to have this role in the Disney adaptations, but more characters have been added to those since.
