The Skelterwild is a Dream Eater that appears in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
Design[edit]
The Skelterwild is a skeletal beast made from pieces of the Tyrannosaurus rex, Stegosaurus armatus, and Ankylosaurus magniventris. The Tyrannosaurus bones form the base of the creature, while the Stegosaurus's plates form ridges along its head, neck, tail, and shoulders, and the Ankylosaurus's club is used as the tail. The Dream Eater sigil is emblazoned on its head.
The Dream Eater's name refers to the 1968 Steppenwolf hit rock song, "Born to Be Wild", combined with American rock band "Bon Jovi" in Japanese, and the song "Helter Skelter" by the The Beatles in English.
Spirit[edit]
The majority of the Spirit Skelterwild's body, such as the vertebrae, wishbone, skull, and metatarsals, is mostly cyan, while lime-green appears on the mandible and ribs. Connecting the skull to the mandible is a thick lime-green ring with a small yellow spike on both sides. The top of its head has blue punk-rock "hair" with pink tips. Just above the Spirit Dream Eater sigil is an orange "mohawk". The head itself is capable of detaching from the rest of the body.
Beneath the wishbone are two mantis-like pincers in place of hands, shifting between hot pink, cyan, navy blue, purple, and orange for the main "claws". The legs, which have a large ring located on the femur. The femur also follows a similar color pattern, ending with navy blue phalanges sporting two orange toe claws, the larger of the two pointing outwards, with the smaller one pointing inward. Each side of the back bears four sets of stegosaurus plates of varying shades of green, two on the scapula, and three on the ilium. Three smaller orange plates can be located between the legs. On the end of the tail is a navy blue ankylosaurus club with five large green spikes scattered throughout.
Nightmare[edit]
The Nightmare Skelterwild's body, such as the vertebrae, wishbone, skull, and metatarsals, is mostly grey, while dark red appears on the mandible and ribs. Connecting the skull to the mandible is a thick red ring with a small purple spike on both sides. The top of its head has orange punk-rock "hair" with purple tips. Just above the Nightmare Dream Eater sigil is a purple "mohawk". The head itself is capable of detaching from the rest of the body.
Beneath the wishbone are two mantis-like pincers in place of hands, shifting between purple, orange, green, grey, and purple for the main "claws". The legs, which have a large ring located on the femur. The femur also follows a similar color pattern, ending with orange and green phalanges sporting two purple toe claws, the larger of the two pointing outwards, with the smaller one pointing inward. Each side of the back bears four sets of stegosaurus plates fading from green to blue, two on the scapula, and three on the ilium. Three smaller purple plates can be located between the legs. On the end of the tail is an orange ankylosaurus club with five large red spikes scattered throughout.
Strategy[edit]
Fighting the Nightmare Skelterwild is as about as hard as describing it. Since the head detaches from the head and spits out icy breath while the body wreaks havoc on Sora or Riku, you'll need to chase down the body and then attack it, preferably with Fire-based attacks.
Adding attack commands that emphasize quick blows and Blizzard-based magic commands are how the Spirit Skelterwild operates. On top of this, it sports the Zero Gravity family in order to draw enemies closer to it since the head doesn't move when attacking.
