Prankster's Paradise |
The Char Clawbster is a Dream Eater that appears in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
Story[edit]
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance[edit]
The Char Clawbster attacks Riku at Prankster's Paradise inside of Monstro's body, and is the final Dream Eater summoned by the Spellican to fight Sora in Traverse Town during his second visit.
Design[edit]
The Char Clawbster is a very large, festive-colored lobster with two cone-shaped claws, four sharp legs, and the Dream Eater emblem on its back and under its head. The main segment of its body is orange, while its claws and tails are colored with yellow, red, purple, blue, green, and pink. Its eyes are bright red, and it glows green when it increases its power.
The Chill Clawbster is a larger version with palate swap of the Char Clawbster.
"Meramera" is Japanese onomatopoeia for burning. Similarly, the Char Clawbster is named for its ability to char, or burn, its enemies, while "Clawbster" is a portmanteau of "claw" and "lobster".
Strategy[edit]
Prankster's Paradise[edit]
The Char Clawbster first confronts Riku inside Monstro's bowels. Due to the vast size of the battlefield, the boss can crawl on the ceiling, which Riku can circumvent by striking the uvula on the floor to flip the arena. The Nightmare is particularly vulnerable from its back or on its face, and powerful commands and Link Styles are best effective against it. It tends to attack by summoning bombs, slashing with its claws, and shooting fire attacks either through crawling walls or spinning disks. Riku should avoid staying in front of Char Clawbster when it uses Sleep Breath, in order to avoid a potentially early drop. For its ultimate attack, the boss will activate Overboost, signified by it glowing green, and rapidly shift positions on the battlefield, firing bombs and lasers along the way that can be dodged with Flowmotion. Once Overboost wears off, Riku can resume his assault. If Riku can deal enough damage in a short period of time, he can activate Bubble Burst and use it on the boss.
Traverse Town[edit]
The Char Clawbster is the final Nightmare summoned by the Spellican to attack Sora at the Third District. In this battle, the Char Clawbster cannot activate Overboost, and its movements are limited by the arena's small size. Once again, staying behind the boss and unleashing powerful commands and Link Attacks are crucial to victory. Sora can also use Slingshot to fling barrels at the boss or, if he delivers enough damage to the boss, fling the boss on the ground.
