Stop, Stopra, and Stopga are a series of magic introduced in Kingdom Hearts. They utilize the power of time and are associated with the Power material. Stop spells inflict the Stop status, which temporarily freezes targets in time.
A fourth tier, called Stopza (ストップガン Sutoppugan , lit. "Stopgun"), exists, but is only used in cutscenes.
Development[edit]
Stop was planned to appear as a usable spell in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, but was scrapped. It can still be accessed through modifying the game files.
Story[edit]
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance[edit]
Upon arriving in Where Nothing Gathers in The World That Never Was, King Mickey casts Stopza, freezing time and halting the actions of everyone present, save for himself and Riku.
Kingdom Hearts III[edit]
When the Seven Guardians of Light are surrounded by an army of Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed at the Keyblade Graveyard, Mickey almost casts Stopza, but is stopped by Riku, who tells him to save his strength for the fight against the real Organization XIII.
Later, Master Xehanort casts Stopza to counter Mickey's Ultima.
Mechanics[edit]
Kingdom Hearts[edit]
In Kingdom Hearts, Stop is advanced magic that can be used by Sora and Donald. It will freeze a target from moving for a short amount of time, as well as nearby foes. The higher-tier Stopra and Stopga have larger areas of effect. A stopped enemy will receive all damage inflicted while stopped once the effect wears off. Stop magic costs 2 MP to use.
After the keyhole in Hollow Bastion is revealed, most enemies have an increased resistance to Stop magic.
Genie may cast Stop as part of his Showtime ability.
Stop magic can be used on certain objects in the field, most notably the Clock Tower. Using Stop in this manner is crucial during the battle against the Phantom.

In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Stop is a magic card that can be used by Sora. It halts enemy movement for a set time period.
The Genie summon card and its associated sleight may cast Stop magic when used.
