Etymology

The Woeflower's Japanese name means "evil flower," which contrasts the Wheeflower's Japanese name, as the two flower Dream Eaters are supposed to be opposites. Its English name refers to "woe," or "great sorrow and distress," emphasizing its negative nature and setting it in opposition to the Wheeflower; both the Woeflower and Wheeflower's names are also puns on the term "wallflower."
