Attack (たたかう Tatakau?) is a reccurring command in the Kingdom Hearts series. It is the most basic method of attacking, allowing the user to execute a basic attack with their equipped weapon.

Mechanics

In Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, the "Attack" command is set at the top, default position on the command menu.

In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, it is assigned to X (Circle in the Japanese versions of the game), and in Kingdom Hearts Re:coded and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, it is assigned to A. In these games, the "Attack" command is always available, and change to other commands such as "Talk", "Open" and "Examine".

The "Attack" command can be used multiple times in a sequence, making a combo. A basic combo is composed of 3 hits, being 2 normal attacks and the third a "Finishing Move". That number can be later increased, as well as the attacks during a combo can be changed. The "Attack" command is a Physical element command. This can be changed by equipping weapons that have other attributes, as for example, the Lionheart keyblade in Kingdom Hearts.
