The Crocodile
A seagoing reptile big enough to swallow a man whole—and he's always hungry! He got a taste of Hook once and never forgot it. Hook can tell when he's near by the sound of the clock ticking away in his stomach.

He had a taste for Captain Hook in "Peter Pan" (1953).

Captain Hook's most feared enemy. Just a few ticks of the clock he swallowed are enough to send Hook running for dear life.

Peter Pan (1953)
A large crocodile that has a hunger for anything it can get its jaws on.

The Crocodile is a character from the Neverland world, and one of Captain Hook's enemies. He is a saltwater crocodile that acquired a taste for the pirate captain when Peter Pan chopped off the captain's hand and fed it to him. He now follows Hook around everywhere, hoping to get a second taste of the captain. The crocodile isn't quite a villain, since he primarily hunts Captain Hook, but he does attack Sora and Ventus.

The crocodile swallowed a ticking alarm clock, that now, unfortunately for the crocodile, warns Captain Hook if he is approaching. This has become something of a trademark for the crocodile, foreshadowing its arrival in a way that terrifies the captain, much to his humiliation.

Story[edit]

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep[edit]

After Captain Hook captures Tinker Bell, he heads to Skull Rock, where Terra is waiting. Terra frees Tinker Bell, but before the angry Hook can act, the Crocodile appears in the water, and Hook runs off. He follows Hook to the Cove, and it circles the platform where Hook and Ventus are fighting. After Ven knocks Hook into the water, Hook is chased back to his ship by the Crocodile. Hook later steals the Lost Boys' treasure chest once again and takes it to the gully, but when he opens the chest to gloat, he discovers that it only contains the children's keepsakes. Just as he begins to curse in frustration, the Crocodile reappears and scares him off.

Kingdom Hearts[edit]

After Sora and Peter Pan defeat Captain Hook, he falls into the water, only to be chased away by the Crocodile.

Origin[edit]

The Crocodile is seen in J. M. Barrie's 1904 play and 1911 novel, Peter and Wendy, and the 1953 Disney film, Peter Pan. The Crocodile played a minor, recurring role in Neverland as a reminder to Captain Hook and of his lost left hand, as the constant tick-tock sound emitting from within the Crocodile can be heard throughout the film. Upon his defeat to Peter Pan, Captain Hook attempts to kill him with his hook only to fall off the ship. In the water below, the Crocodile slowly swims beneath Hook, awaiting his imminent fall. The Crocodile successfully removes small pieces of Hook's attire, then eventually swallows him. However, the Captain successfully escapes the Crocodile's maw. The Crocodile is last seen swimming after a fleeing Captain Hook.
