Template:Enemy The Flame Box is an Unversed found in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix. The player can battle it for a Firaga Deck Command.

Design

A Flame Box is a purple, treasure chest-shaped Unversed. It is a palette swap of the Spiderchest. It has yellow "teeth" lining the lid of the chest and three orange, zig-zagging, bladed legs. The Unversed's spherical, black head is protected inside the chest. Its red eyes are set in a happy expression and the Unversed symbol adorns the top of the chest's lid.

The Flame Box's name references its resemblance to a treasure chest, its ability to launch fireballs, and the Firaga Deck Command that it drops.

Strategy

The Unversed mission for the Flame Box can be found in the Waterside area of the Enchanted Dominion.

The Flame Box uses Fire magic. It starts by spouting one fireball from its mouth, and then another, and then another. On occasion, there will be two, or three. These fireballs can be extinguished by attacks or magic. For the early stages, keep locking on to each fireball and fending them off with the player character's attacks. Take care not to get hit by the descending fireballs, however, as they will deal a fair bit of damage.

If a player character successfully extinguishes its fireballs enough times, it will spout several fireballs at once! Up to seven or eight can appear at a time. Here it is recommended to use spells or attacks with fairly wide ranges, such as Thundaga, Deep Freeze, Meteor, Glacier or a wide-range finisher. Shotlocks are also an effective way to extinguish the airborne fireballs, particularly when the Flame Box spouts several fireballs at once. It may be useful to keep a few ethers stocked in the command deck to keep the focus gauge full and ensure shotlocks are constantly available.

Make sure to keep a reasonable distance from the Flame Box at all times so you can easily lock on to and extinguish the fireballs as they are launched, and the 3-star rank for this Unversed mission should be attained relatively easily.
