Type Unversed
Game Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

The Axe Flapper is an Unversed that appears in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix.

Design[edit]

The Axe Flapper is a bat-like Unversed with a thin neck and pear-shaped body that is navy blue in coloration. Its short legs, tail, and head are blue. The Axe Flapper's head resembles a hatchet or axe blade, and two large, tan wings with blue edges sprout from the sides of it. This Unversed's red eyes are set in a sorrowful expression, and its Unversed emblem appears on the front side of its body.

In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, the Axe Flapper receives a palette swap. Its body becomes dark grey with yellow highlights, and its legs, head, and tail become pink. The Axe Flapper's wings also become pink and have light pink interiors.

The Axe Flapper's name references its axe-shaped head and the blades it throws to attack, as well as its ability to fly.

Battle[edit]

Attacks[edit]

  • Rolling Dynamic (ローリングダイナミック Rōringu Dainamikku?):
  • Rising Slash (ライジングスラッシュ Raijingu Surasshu?): The Axe Flapper recovers after being knocked down and spins to damage the opponent.
  • Kamaitachi (かまいたち?): The Axe Flapper launches razor-sharp Aero blasts at its target.

Strategy[edit]

Axe Flappers are not difficult to defeat. Terra, Ventus, and Aqua need only use Guard to block their Kamaitachi attack before launching their own offensive. Alternatively, the protagonists can use Magnet to stun these Unversed. If knocked down towards the ground, stay away until they get back up, or they will use a spinning attack to retaliate.
