Rewrites for the DisneyWiki
Keyblade
NOTE: This is meant to be a re-write of the Keyblade article for the Disney Wiki so that it is informative and understandable while not detailed and using little to no wording of the original Keyblade article on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki.
For more information on this Kingdom Hearts-related topic, see Keyblade
The Kingdom Key, Sora's default Keyblade.
The Keyblade is a mysterious weapon heavily featured in the Kingdom Hearts series. Sora, King Mickey, and many other characters throughout the series wield the keyblade, and it is an important element to the battle between the Darkness and Light.
The Keyblade is usually used in fighting, but it has many other abilities. The most important ability featured throughout the series is the ability to lock and unlock any keyhole. The most apparent use of this ability is in the opening and sealing of the keyholes to the hearts of the worlds, as well as opening paths to other worlds. It also can transform into Keyblade Gliders, and, of course, be used to defeat the enemies the present themselves throughout the series. Different keychains can be attached to the Keyblade to change its appearance and form.
In the original Kingdom Hearts, Sora received the Keyblade during the Heartless invasion of Destiny Islands. At about the same time, King Mickey assigns Donald and Goofy to find "the key" and follow it. In Traverse Town, Donald and Goofy identify Sora as the key because of his Keyblade. Sora travels with Donald and Goofy to many worlds, finding and sealing the keyholes of the worlds to protect them from the Heartless. When the trio makes it to Hollow Bastion, Riku reveals that he was meant to wield the Keyblade instead of Sora, and takes the Keyblade for himself, leaving Sora alone. However, soon after, Sora takes the Keyblade back, proving that his own heart was stronger than Riku's. Frustrated and confused, Riku acquires a Keyblade from Ansem, one that he uses to unleash the darkness from people's hearts. Riku, now possessed by Ansem, later confronts Sora, and attacks Sora to free Kairi's heart, needed for both the Final Keyhole to Kingdom Hearts and his own Keyblade. Sora defeats the Ansem-possessed Riku, and uses the Keyblade of heart on himself to release Kairi's heart from within. At the End of the World, the trio attempts to close Kingdom Hearts after defeating Ansem. Riku and King Mickey then appear, and the King reveals that he had been traveling through the Realm of Darkness in search of the Realm's Keyblade, the Kingdom Key D. They closed the door and, together, Sora and Mickey seal the Door to Kingdom Hearts.
The Keychain to the Kingdom Key. It is in the form of a Hidden Mickey
Kingdom Hearts II continues Sora, Donald, and Goofy's journey in search of Riku and King Mickey. Along the way, the come across and confront the mysterious Organization XIII. They learn from Axel during the Heartless invasion that the Organization was using Sora to create Kingdom Hearts, because every Heartless slayed with the Keyblade was releasing a heart that found its way to Kingdom Hearts. In this dark moment, Sora finds himself conflicted over continuing to defeat the Heartless and releasing hearts, or stop the Organization's plot of using the release hearts by defeating Heartless and allow the Heartless to roam free. Goofy assures him, however, that it was far more important to defeat the Heartless threatening the worlds than to foil that part of the Organization's plans. Later, in The World That Never Was, Riku gives Kairi a Keyblade of her own. Riku's own Keyblade had changed appearance to confirm his decision to walk "the road to dawn."
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days reveals that the Organization had been using Roxas, Sora's Nobody, for their plans in the same way they later used Sora. They made Roxas slay Heartless with the Keyblade, which he could wield as Sora's Nobody, to release hearts from the Heartless. The Organization also made a replica of Roxas, Xion, using Sora's memories. Because of Xion's unique nature and the fact that Sora also harbored Ventus's heart, Xion too could wield the Keyblade. The Organization used Xion to release hearts even faster. Eventually, however, the Organization pit Roxas against Xion, deciding they truly only needed one of the two.
The χ-blade, which originally guarded Kingdom Hearts. It is the weapon that all Keyblades are based from
Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep introduces the concept of the Mark of Mastery exam, which Keyblade wielders must pass in order to be considered true Keyblade Masters. In addition, the concept of Keyblade Armor and the ability to convert the Keyblade into a Keyblade Glider is introduced. Xehanort also reveals the origins of the Keyblade, and how they were forged in the image of the original χ-blade during the Keyblade War. In his own pursuits to recreate the Keyblade War, Master Xehanort attempts to pit Ventus against the embodiment of his own darkness, Vanitas. Though he fails, he leaves open many means for him to continue to pursue his goals.
In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Sora and Riku go through the Mark of Mastery exam to become Keyblade Masters. Towards the end, Master Xehanort returns and reveals his new plan to recreate the Keyblade War. He reveals that at the end of the Keyblade War, the χ-blade was destroyed into twenty pieces, seven of light and thirteen of darkness. Knowing this, Xehanort reveals his plan to pit thirteen beings of darkness against seven of light. This was the purpose of the original Organization XIII, but since it failed, the new plan consisted of a new Organization made up of thirteen Xehanorts. Riku, Mickey, and others are able to foil Xehanort's plan, which included Sora as the last vessel, by saving Sora. Master Yen Sid, however, reveals that Xehanort will still go through with his plan because if they do not come up with seven guardians of light, Xehanort will target the Seven Princesses of Light. Either way, the χ-blade could be forged and a new Keyblade War created. Lea, Axel's original persona, is revealed to have asked for the ability to wield the Keyblade, which he is able to at the end of the game.
Kingdom Hearts III will feature Sora, Donald and Goofy in their search for a new Keyblade, the Keyblade to Return Hearts. It will also feature Xehanort's new Organization and his attempt to forge the Keyblade in his pursuit to recreate the Keyblade War.

Manga Chapter List Template
Update 1: Still Testing KeybladeSpyMaster 03:01, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
Update 2: I'm trying to understand the code for Template:Episode list/Sublist on Wikipedia. If we can get it to work with Template:Comicstory, we would only need to input the data once, on the volume chapter list, and use the sublist template to print the data again on the master chapter list page. KeybladeSpyMaster 03:40, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
Update 3: Appears to work for now, will seek approval before proceeding. I'm using a different color to represent the game, in this case, a dark blue sampled from the logo for Kingdom Hearts. I think if we do a master chapter list hub page, we should use colors to represent each game.
If approved, all that will be left is the sublist, which allows for the data to be input once, and then be posted twice with one command line (see Template:Episode list/sublist). KeybladeSpyMaster 23:19, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

These are just my thoughts on some of the topics that will be discussed at the Roundtable tommorrow.
- Increase Community Activity: This is a big one, not just because I suggested it. Let's face it, the Kingdom Hearts community has all but died. Or they were abducted by Xehanort, I don't know. But here's the deal. No one does anything anymore. Not just on this wiki, but throughout the community, nothing has happened. Gone are the days when a little potential tidbit would spark speculation for days. Gone are the days any one would do anything to keep interest alive, like competitions, games, etc. So much so that the annual April Fools' Day prank that some of the major Kingdom Hearts fansites pull just, didn't happen. No one pulled one off last week. It was really disappointing. In fact, as of right now, KHInsider has yet to realize that a Famitsu article on Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX came out, and they're usually the first to notice. I think we should be the ones to come up with something to get people excited for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX and Kingdom Hearts III. It can't be the lack of info: We didn't get much more information on Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX between October and February than we've received about Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX in the last four months. Even if it were the lack of info, the community hasn't completely dropped everything before, not that I've ever known. What it is that we do to increase activity is up to you guys. Might I suggest, though I don't know if it will result in any thing, to do something with the Main Page. I've noticed that at one point, there was an attempt to revamp the Main Page. Perhaps now is the time. Who knows, a fresh new page could take us somewhere. At best, it at least looks like we're still alive. It's kind of a side note, but we should really update this site as best we can. Parts of the site look like we started something with high hopes and then dropped it in a mysterious and sudden manner. Traverse Town, the site revamp Project, and Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX Contest come to mind. I think it could be part of the effort to increase site/community activity by giving people something to do, and also making the site a little more attractive visually-speaking, but that's just an option.
- Site Theme: I loved being involved in creating the HD 1.5 ReMIX theme last year. I would like to be involved with it again. However, I realize that there is a lack of info. Specifically, there are no renders, no artwork, no default pattern. I think we could at least prepare a background theme, if only to have ready. I, myself, have attempted this, but, as you may have noticed, some of the icons are a little weird (the heart, for example). That's my opinion on that. I doubt we'll begin this, mostly because we have no release date. Still, if you guys decide to start this, I would love to be involved in it.
- Disney Wiki: KH-original characters, worlds, music, etc.: Oh, boy.
- Kingdom Hearts original characters: I think of all the character articles on the Disney Wiki, these should be the most detailed ones. It's important to explain why the heck a Disney fan should give a crap about some dude named Terra, or a kid named Roxas and his twin (I'm playing the part of the guy who doesn't know what Kingdom Hearts is). I think the important part of these articles is the story. The story, including their actions and reactions to certain events, sheds light on the character's role in the game and series, as well as explaining much anything that needs to be explained, without going into too much detail.
- Worlds: Same deal. Explaining the story that occurs in the world does pretty well in explaining the world's role, and the original movie's role, in the game and series. Of course, there are some worlds that the story doesn't explain all (The Hundred Acre Wood's story isn't going to tell you that it's the mini-game hub in Kingdom Hearts II, nor does the story tell you much of Atlantica's stupid gameplay in the same game). In such cases, a little elaboration on the world's role does not hurt. There should especially be a comparison between the role of the world and the world's original story from the movie. For Kingdom Hearts-original worlds, the article should also tell the story, but in the perspective of the entire series plot. I believe the worlds original to the series are all significant to the series plot, except maybe Mirage Arena.
- Music: I think an article(s) detailing the soundtracks released should be made, seeing as the Kingdom Hearts soundtracks are published and distributed by Walt Disney Records. However, I continue to stand by the fact that the article dedicated to Utada Hikaru does not belong there. Her work is used with permission by Disney in the series, and is published with the same permission, but that does not make her or her work as belonging to Disney. Her work is published by another label, and she is considering not even doing another song for Kingdom Hearts III (hope she chooses to do one, though). Such a page should not exist on the Disney Wiki. Instead, her work and contribution should exist on the Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack, as well as the pages for "Simple and Clean" and "Sanctuary".
Progress Report: I would like to simply update the progress on the Manga templates. I've finished the tiny tweak to use the chapter covers on the Comicstory template. One note on the Manga, we suggested at the Roundtable last week to put Calling as the featured article for May to increase interest in the Manga project. However, we lack (as far as I could tell) the cover for this chapter. Could anyone upload it? I've also begun looking at the template on Wikipedia that they used in the suggested article (see KHWiki Roundtable Summary, Meeting 24 Part One). I'm having a little trouble understanding the code, so it may take some time, especially since school is ending and end of year tests are coming up. If all else fails, I might just reinvent the wheel and create the template from scratch, I don't know. I haven't had too much time since Spring Break to look at it. I've come up with a list of elements that should be listed in the template. These are Title (TP and YP), Episode, Volume (TP and YP) and Publication dates (Japan: TP, YP; English: TP, YP). Are there any others that should be included?
Like I stated last week, I won't be able to attend the Roundtable tomorrow, so those are my thoughts on those topics. Thanks, guys!
