The AntiSora is a Pureblood Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. It is a boss fought in the Captain's Cabin in Neverland and as an enemy in Dive to the Heart. Sora's Heartless also takes this form after being defeated by Data-Sora in his Neo-Darkside form. It is one of the eight enemies in Kingdom Hearts which do not have an entry in Jiminy's Journal.

Story

Kingdom Hearts

Sora and his friends encounter Riku on Captain Hook's ship, where he reveals that he now has control over the Heartless. To prove it, he creates a Heartless replica of Sora before their eyes, and it throws them into the ship's brig. As Sora fights his way back to the ship's deck, he encounters many of these "Shadow Soras", which only he can defeat. However, they have no weapons and often vanish before he can even attack them. Once Sora reaches the Captain's Cabin, Riku creates a more complete replica of Sora, this one able to wield a shadow Keyblade. After being defeated, it fades back into darkness.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

After Sora's heart is swallowed by darkness, Riku dives into his heart in hopes of saving it. During his attempt to reach the Station, he is attacked by many AntiSoras, but evades them and reaches Sora's heart.

Design

The AntiSora is a near-perfect replica of Sora. It dresses in the same clothing as Sora, including his gloves, shorts, large shoes, hooded shirt, and even has the same necklace and hip chain. However, its clothing is colored entirely in shades of black and grey. Its skin is also black, as is its spiky hair, and it has the Heartless' trademark glowing yellow eyes. It wields a shadowy copy of the Kingdom Key.

The AntiSora's name reflects the fact that it is an antagonistic, Heartless copy of Sora. The prefix "anti-" means "against".

Other appearances

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories

In Link Mode, the second player's avatar is depicted as a darker version of Sora. Just like Shadow Sora, it lacks the yellow eyes of the Heartless, but can still wield a Keyblade like AntiSora.

Strategy

Kingdom Hearts

It is recommended to set Aero, Cure, and either Thunder or Stop to the shortcut menu. Most of AntiSora's attacks resemble Sora's basic ground combo, using a vertical slash, a horizontal slash, a thrust, and a turning slash. It is unable to use magic or Special Abilities, but can melt into the shadows and move around like Shadows. It can leap out of the ground with an uppercut, dealing massive damage if Sora is caught. Avoid these attacks with Dodge Roll or by keeping Sora in motion.

When the boss's HP meter goes to yellow status, it takes on a new strategy. In the second stage of the fight, AntiSora creates two replicas of itself to distract Sora. Scan can distinguish the real AntiSora from the fakes because the fakes have 1 HP whereas the real AntiSora still has the full HP bar, but the fakes can hit and do the same amount of damage as the real AntiSora. Be sure to keep Sora's HP within a tolerable level—heal when necessary.

Guard is particularly useful if used in conjunction with Counterattack in this battle, as Sora can deflect some of AntiSora's attacks.

Jumping on the bed on the left side of the room is a good place to avoid the majority of AntiSora's attacks or to heal when necessary.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance

During the final portion of the storyline, Riku performs a Dive into Sora's heart in a sequence resembling the Dive to the Heart sequences from Kingdom Hearts. In this sequence, numerous AntiSoras appear as enemies after Riku has tagged at least 10 Soras. Each is surrounded by an impenetrable blue energy shield when it first appears and will slowly circle the screen, occasionally launching a large X-shaped attack directly forward. Eventually their shields will drop, at which point they can be killed for health pickups, but fighting the AntiSoras is not required to complete the Dive. These versions of AntiSora have the same visual and sound effects as Dream Eaters when they get destroyed, despite having the same eyes as that of a Heartless.
