Fire (card).png

Fire (ファイア Faia?), Fira (ファイラ Faira?), and Firaga (ファイガ Faiga?, lit. "Figa") are a series of magic introduced in Kingdom Hearts. They utilize the element of fire and are associated with the Blazing material. In all of its appearances, Fire unleashes flames to incinerate foes, inflicting Fire-type damage; however, the specific execution of the spell differs between games. It is the first spell introduced in the series.

Story

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix

Aqua casts Firaga to repel the Dark Hide's attack.

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory

Kairi casts Firaga when battling the memory of Master Xehanort, only for the elderly Keyblade Master to dodge the attack.

Mechanics

Kingdom Hearts

In Kingdom Hearts, Firaga launches an orb of flames at blistering speeds.

In Kingdom Hearts, Fire is offensive magic that allows Sora to launch a fireball with slight homing properties at a single enemy. Due to its wide flight arc, it may be difficult to hit fast-moving targets at long range, but it can be fired in rapid succession if set as a shortcut command. Fire magic costs one unit from the Charge Gauge in all versions except the original Japanese release, where it costs half a unit, and its power is determined by the following equations:

  • Fire
    • Power = Max MP + 20
  • Fira
  • Firaga

Donald Duck is capable of casting Fire from the outset, and he can cast Fira and Firaga once they are obtained by Sora.

Fire magic can be used to light fires in various locations, such as at the oven and lab equipment in the Camp and the candles on upper level of the Entrance Hall. It also opens the door in the Third District that leads to the Mystical House.

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories

In Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Firaga has added homing capability.

In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Fire is a magic card that can be used by Sora.

The Donald and Jack friend cards and their associated sleights can cast Fire magic when used.

Kingdom Hearts II

In Kingdom Hearts II, Firaga spins two rings of fireballs around the user.

In Kingdom Hearts II, Fire magic creates a rotating ring of flames that surrounds the caster to inflict damage on nearby enemies. It costs 10 MP to use, 12 MP in the Final Mix release. When Mobile Action is equipped, Sora can move while using Firaga, allowing him to tackle a much greater swath of enemies. Good for crowd control, and compared to the first game, it can deal more damage if Sora is close enough, but at the cost of significantly reduced range.
