The Moonrise is a Claymore that can be wielded by Saïx in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to the Moonrise+.

Design

The Moonrise has a short, pale turquoise handle with a white spike set in its pommel. Its guard is comprised by two black spikes that angle downward. The base of the blade is a salmon-colored diamond with a yellow spike resembling those on the Nobody logo on either side. These spikes point diagonally upward. The shaft is white and forks into a “Y” shape halfway up its length. The tip of the blade has is shaped like a spike on the Nobody symbol. It is yellow near its tip and salmon-colored near its base, and has black edges.

When Saïx enters his berserker state, both the tip and shaft of the blade become longer and change shape slightly. The two spikes at its base also become larger, and the weapon gains four more similar spikes, two on each side. These new spikes are also yellow and have orange edges.

A "moonrise" involves the moon appearing in the sky at night in the same way that the sun appears in the sky in the morning, called a "sunrise". Another one of Saïx's claymores, Moonset, has a similar meaning name.

Gameplay

Moonrise's ground combo starts with a side-stepping movement and two fast sideways slashes, followed by a 360° spinning swipe and an upward diagonal slash, and ends with a near-vertical slash upward.

The aerial combo consists of a sideways slash, followed by an upward diagonal slash and a more powerful downward vertical slash.
