Shade Jelly (シェイドジェリー, Sheido Jerī) is an Unversed that appears in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Several are fought off by Terra when they surround Captain Hook's treasure. A large swarm of Shade Jellies is also encountered in-between worlds. Shade Jelly Unversed are unique because they come in several different colors, so as to appear as a diverse swarm of Unversed. Shade Jellies are often unpredictable, ramming into the player at random. This is what makes them deadly as a swarm. Their HP is also very low. To defeat a swarm of them, use Magnet and Aero Magic.

Design

Shade Jellies come in several different colors, but they all share the same structure. A Shade Jelly is a small Unversed with a round head with several short spikes on it. Above its head is a large, rounded cap with a short spike on its tip. All Shade Jellies have the same black, heart-shaped face with red eyes set in an angry expression. Their caps all share silver highlights and an Unversed symbol on its front. The four different color variations of Shade Jellies include a light brown head with a blue cap, a pink head with a cyan cap, a cyan body with a yellow-green cap, and a light orange body with an orange cap. Shade Jellies are able to contort their caps to propel themselves.

Strategy

Shade Jellies, while weak on their own, can be deadly and unpredictable in a swarm. They attack by randomly ramming at the player. the easiest way to defeat a swarm is with Magnet or Aero magic.
