Story

To save Kairi, Sora uses the power of waking to return to The Last World of ocean and sky, where he meets Chirithy, who tells him he'll disappear if he saves her. Sora does it anyway, and Chirithy directs him to the crack he made in time. He experiences the doomed first version of the guardians' battle with Terra-Xehanort as several of his allies, then meets with Naminé and goes back to the second version of the battle. He witnesses the battle between the Lingering Will and Terra-Xehanort, but after the Will sacrifices itself to save Sora, he is forced to fight Terra-Xehanort alone. Sora enters his own past self and replays extended versions of the Organization battles at the Keyblade Graveyard, which the player has the option of fighting as other characters (Riku, Aqua, Roxas) at times. After Xehanort strikes Kairi down, Sora enters the portal and travels to Scala ad Caelum ahead of his past self to find Kairi. Xehanort explains that he crystallized Kairi and split her into seven pieces as a final failsafe. After completing a series of puzzles, Sora finds five fragments of her heart there, but has to leave before finding the other two because his past self shows up. He connects to the other seven guardians, which engage in a battle with Replica Xehanorts. They all escape except Mickey, who narrowly limps out of there and repels the replicas with Sora's help. Sora finds the remaining fragments and rejoins them by connecting to the guardians' hearts. Kairi is restored, and she and Sora defeat Armored Xehanort together. They help the guardians open the way through Kingdom Hearts to join past Sora at Scala ad Caelum after his final battle with Xehanort. The pair then end up in The Final World, where they invite Chirithy to come home with them. They secretly witness the other guardians's journey home, bringing Chirithy to Ventus and Naminé's heart to her replica body. Finally, Sora and Kairi share a final moment sitting together on a Paopu tree before he fades away.

Xigbar, who survived the Keyblade War, retrieves Xehanort's Keyblade and summons four of the five foretellers, revealing himself to be a reincarnation of their fellow Keyblade apprentice, Luxu. He begins to recount his actions to the foretellers, with Maleficent and Pete watching from afar. In a flashback to their youth, Eraqus and Xehanort begin a new game of chess enacting a battle between seven dark pieces, and then placing a white piece on the board.

Limitcut Episode

One year after the defeat of Master Xehanort, Riku goes to Radiant Garden to visit Leon, Cid, Aerith and Yuffie to try and uncover any clues to Sora's whereabouts. Cid recreates Sora's data in a simulated version of the Garden of Assemblage, along with stronger data copies of Real Organization XIII in the hopes of yielding some answers.

After all thirteen copies are defeated, the data analysis shows up as an inconclusive error, forcing Riku and Leon's gang back to square one. The Fairy Godmother then appears at Merlin and Yen Sid's request to aid them, and Riku recounts the strange dream he's been having: He finds himself in an unfamiliar city surrounded by tall buildings, while a mysterious figure observes him from atop a skyscraper.

Secret Episode

Yozora appears to know exactly who Sora is and claims that he is tasked to "save" him, but suddenly questions whether that is truly Sora at all. To Sora's shock, he summons his crossbow and sword and transports them to the 104 building where a fearsome battle ensues.

After Sora defeats Yozora, Yozora fades away into light and Sora ends up in The Final World. Meanwhile, Yozora is woken up in a car by his driver. Sora and Yozora both wonder if it was a dream or not. Sora then states that none of this makes any sense to him. An Oath to Return
