A frost crystal: the rarest of the frost materials

Frost is one of the categories of Item Synthesis materials found in the Kingdom Hearts series. Representing Blizzard Magic, it holds icy energy within it and is used to make a number of objects that protect from cold-related spells. Of the three basic elemental magic types, it is the only one to go without a name change between Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II

The Frost materials are known as "Freezing" in Japanese.

Kingdom Hearts

As one of the basic elemental materials, the Frost set only had two forms originally: the Shard and the Gem. In Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, a Stone form was added, expanding the number of items made with Frost magic.

Kingdom Hearts II

The Frost materials, like the other elemental materials, acquired the powerful Crystal form in Kingdom Hearts II. They are also now one of the basic eight materials; if 30 Frost Shards, 25 Frost Stones, or 20 Frost Gems are gathered, they become available for purchase in the Moogle item shops.

Frost materials were assigned an aqua or light blue color to distinguish them from the other materials, especially the dark blue Power set.
