Synopsis
The front page shows Sora, Donald, and Goofy, with several cards depicting worlds in the background.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy are shown in a field. It is nighttime, as a snoozing Donald and Goofy are shown. Sora, however, is unable to sleep. He sits, staring at the lucky charm Kairi gave him, remembering his previous journey. Jiminy is also up, continuing his mission as chronicler. Sora asks Jiminy if they will return to their original worlds one day, to which Jiminy confirms. Promising to bring Riku home, Sora finally settles down to sleep. Not long after, a mysterious cloaked figure appears, saying only one ominous line: "Ahead lies something you need, but to claim it you must lose something dear." The figure leaves, with Sora and company in pursuit.

The unknown figure leads the group to a large castle. Donald and Goofy promptly enter the new location, wondering if King Mickey is inside. Just a few steps in, Sora comments that it feels as if he dropped something. Suddenly, the mysterious man from before appears, stating that the group is slowly losing parts of their memory. Refusing to accept the fact, Donald prepares to attack the figure, only to find he cannot remember any of his previous spells. The figure explains further that "in this place, to find is to lose...and to lose is to find." Also, in this Castle of Oblivion, they will find people they know and miss. Immediately the group's thoughts go to Riku and the King. The figure passes through Sora, eventually tossing him a card. The man explains how this card is a sample of Sora's memories that can be used to reunite him with his friends. Jiminy interjects, warning the group about the dangers of progressing further. This falls on deaf ears, as the trio opens the door, stepping into Traverse Town.

The cloaked figure appears and claims they have started to lose their memory when they stepped inside. Donald tries to attack him, but he has forgotten how to cast magic. The cloaked figure explains the castle is called Castle Oblivion, and that they will meet people they miss. The cloaked figure dashes through Sora, sampling his memories into a card. He tells him to use the card to open the door and proceed through the castle.
