Magnet, Magnera, and Magnega magic are spells used by Sora and other characters and enemies that utilize the element of Darkness in Kingdom Hearts II. Magnet, along with Reflect, replace Gravity, Aero, and Stop from Kingdom Hearts in Kingdom Hearts II. It is classified as Advanced Magic.
Magnet, Magnera, and Magnega are a series of magic that appears in Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. When used, it creates a vortex of magnetic force that draws in enemies, dealing continuous damage.

Magnet is a special type of magic that attracts enemies, orbs, and items towards a magnetic orb it creates. As the rank of the magic increases, the orb becomes bigger and more powerful. It is extremely helpful when battling the Grim Reaper in Port Royal. Enemies in the orb continually take damage.

Magnet also appears in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and has the same effects as in Kingdom Hearts II. Although it does not appear in the game, the "Magnet Spiral" sleight in Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories used by Sora resembles the Magnega spell in Kingdom Hearts II. In Reverse/Rebirth Mode, Zexion's basic attack creates a swirling vortex from within one of his many lexicons to steal Riku's cards. This vortex is identical in appearance to the Magnet spell.

In Kingdom Hearts II, Magnet is a special type of magic that attracts enemies, orbs, and items towards the magnetic orb it creates. Magnega and Reflega are the only spells which can be used to harm the Sorcerer Nobody and Sephiroth.

Magnet magic acts as a combo finisher, and if Finishing Plus is equipped, Sora can follow it up with additional combo finishers. It functions differently depending on the Drive Form:

* In Wisdom Form, the spell casts much faster, and the orb will now inflict extra damage at intervals to enemies caught.

* In Master Form, the orb lasts for a very long time, and like Wisdom Form, damages enemies caught at intervals. It has the unique effect of periodically launching targets upward before sucking them in again, allowing Sora to catch them with his aerial combos.

* In Final Form, the orb lasts for a very short time, even shorter if cast in the air; When cast on the ground, Sora is unable to take action as he is occupied with maintaining it. However, enemies caught take massive damage in very short intervals, and when the spell ends, are flung in Sora's direction so as to set up more attacks. Final Form's Magnet will have every prize and drop in the area instantly transferred to Sora.
In Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Magnet is a type of magic which attracts enemies into a vortex with two orbs orbiting in it. This type of magic is key to filling the command bar easily. It is available to all three characters.

Mechanics[edit]

Kingdom Hearts II[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts II, Magnet is an Advanced magic that can be used by Sora. Magnera and Magnega are more powerful and pull in enemies from farther away. Magnet magic acts as a combo finisher, and if Finishing Plus is equipped, Sora can follow it up with additional combo finishers. It functions differently depending on the Drive Form:

 • In Wisdom Form, the spell casts much faster, and the orb will now inflict extra damage at intervals to enemies caught.
 • In Master Form, the orb lasts for a very long time, and like Wisdom Form, damages enemies caught at intervals. It has the unique effect of periodically launching targets upward before sucking them in again, allowing Sora to catch them with his aerial combos.
 • In Final Form, the orb lasts for a very short time, even shorter if cast in the air; When cast on the ground, Sora is unable to take action as he is occupied with maintaining it. However, enemies caught take massive damage in very short intervals, and when the spell ends, are flung in Sora's direction so as to set up more attacks. Final Form's Magnet will have every prize and drop in the area instantly transferred to Sora.

Magnet magic costs 30 MP to use, and deals Neutral damage.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep[edit]
