Orichalcum is a material type introduced in Kingdom Hearts. Orichalcum materials contain the rarest of metals. As of Kingdom Hearts II, the Orichalcum was redubbed as the "Orichalcum+", while the new material Orichal took the name "Orichalcum".

An addition to regular Orichalcum, an even rarer version exists in Kingdom Hearts II.  Known as An Orichalcum+, it is a key ingredient in synthesizing Sora's Ultima Weapon.

In order to create Ultima Weapon, an Energy Crystal is required to reduce the needed amount of items by half, bringing the required total down to seven and making it possible to be synthesized.

Orichalcum is a material type introduced in Kingdom Hearts. Orichalcum materials contain the rarest of metals. As of Kingdom Hearts II, the Orichalcum was redubbed as the "Orichalcum+", while the new material Orichal (オリハル Oriharu?) took the name "Orichalcum".

Design[edit]

A basic Orichalcum is represented by a star-shaped, aqua-colored jewel. Its upper half is lined by five triangular spikes that alternate from large to small. Its lower half has two slanted spikes on either side and one diamond-shaped spike on its bottom. The center of the jewel is adorned by white sparkles.

Its top half is lined by five triangular spikes that alternate from large to small in size. The two smaller spikes fork into three points at their tips, and all five spikes are connected by four thin bars. Its lower half is lined by four slanted spikes, two on each side of the jewel. One large, diamond-shaped spike is placed on its bottom, and there are white sparkles decorating the center of the jewel.

In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Orichalcum is colored light pink, and consists of a large, cube-shaped crystal flanked by two smaller crystals.

Orichalcum is a metal mentioned in numerous ancient writings, and was supposedly second-only to gold in value.
