King's Flare (キングスフレア Kingusu Furea?) is a Link Summon that appears in Kingdom Hearts III. It allows the user to summon and control Simba to let out fiery roars and leap at enemies.

Mechanics[edit]

In Kingdom Hearts III, King's Flare is the Link Summon attached to the Pride Heartbinder. It has a base duration of 40 seconds. When used Sora summons Simba, who lets loose flames that damage surrounding enemies, and rides on his back, where he can then control him to run and leap around. Simba deals contact damage to enemies while running, and when using Firaga Leap a shockwave is created upon landing on the ground. King's Flare exclusively deals Fire damage.

Strategy[edit]

King's Flare is something of a jack of all trades, a Link good for almost any situation even if not as powerful in certain situations as other Links may be. It deals solid, reliable damage while keeping the enemies staggered, and is just as effective against aerial enemies as it is against targets on the ground. Alternatively if all that was desired was the HP restoration of the Link, King's Flare still is very useful as the Finish command can be used instantly to deal great damage to enemies, as well as providing consistent interruption and damage to enemies for 6 seconds with its ground burning effect. King's Flare is most effective in Arendelle, as many enemies in the world are weak to Fire damage, which King's Flare exclusively deals.

An effective use of King's Flare's attacks is to use Firaga Leap to reach the enemy, then Firaga Roar to stun it, then Firaga Leap again onto the enemy followed by another Firaga Roar, and repeated as necessary. Since Firaga Leap has very little of a delay after using it, this can make up for the slower delay after using Firaga Roar. Alternatively if chaining Firaga Roars, be sure to move slightly towards the targets with each usage as they will be pushed away by the attack.
