Sea Spectacle (シースペクタクル Shī Supekutakuru?) is a Link Summon that appears in Kingdom Hearts III. It allows the user to summon Ariel and jump in and out of the ground with her to shoot out a series of watery orbs that vary based on the user's timing.

Mechanics

In Kingdom Hearts III, Sea Spectacle is the Link Summon attached to the Ocean Heartbinder. It has a base duration of 20 seconds. When used, Sora summons Ariel in a flowing ring of water that damages surrounding enemies, where he can then alternate with her in diving in and out of the ground while controlling the direction of the dives. Mermaid Dive will be used continuously, damaging enemies and giving a timed button press that appears when nearing the ground during the dive. If timed correctly, the "GOOD" rating will be changed to "EXCELLENT". The bonuses of an "EXCELLENT" rating include higher jumps that allow for an additional use of Splash, increased damage along with shockwaves that appear when a projectile hits the ground, and stronger water pillars from the Finish command in locations where an "EXCELLENT" rating was achieved.

If Mermaid Dive was not used, Splash only scatters four projectiles, otherwise it scatters eight with the power of each depending on the rating.

Sea Spectacle exclusively deals Water damage.

Strategy

Sea Spectacle mostly focuses on dealing damage with its Splash command. Like Ariel's homeworld of Atlantica in Kingdom Hearts II, Sea Spectacle heavily involves well timed rhythmic button presses, which are easier to achieve the "EXCELLENT" rating for when watching for when the circle that appears compresses to a certain point, rather than just attempting to press the button repeatedly. Mermaid Dive is fairly forgiving with the precision required for an "EXCELLENT" rating, but if needed the player can use the MP refilling of a save point to practice the timing until comfortable with it.

Sea Spectacle is immensely powerful against large bosses that will get hit by the majority of Splash's spread, such as the Demon Tide, or especially the Catastrochorus who can have all of its HP depleted down to 1 with just a couple uses of Splash due to its large size and weakness to Water damage. Other good bosses to use Sea Spectacle against are bosses that will teleport to or chase the player in the air, like Master Xehanort in his final boss battle, or even just common enemies that tend to stay high in the air like Anchor Raiders. Likewise, small targets that tend to stay on the ground are a poor choice to use Sea Spectacle against, as most of the projectiles from Splash will fail to hit them.
